As sales keeps dropping, these kinds of "dominations" like BTS' are probably getting easier. Won't make much of a mark on the Hot 100 though.

Kris Wu's Wiki page
Wu Yifan (simplified Chinese: 吴亦凡; traditional Chinese: 吳亦凡; pinyin: Wú Yìfán, pronounced [ǔ îfân], OO EE-fawn, born November 6, 1990), professionally known as Kris Wu or Kris, is a Chinese Canadian actor, singer, and model. He is a former member of South Korean-Chinese boy band EXO and its subgroup EXO-M under S.M. Entertainment.
Wu is active as a solo artist and actor in China and has starred in several #1 box office hits including Mr. Six (2015) and Journey to the West: The Demons Strike Back (2017), which are among the highest-grossing Chinese films of all time in China. He made his Hollywood debut in xXx: Return of Xander Cage (2017).

I wasn't aware Kris Wu would be popular enough to top the iTunes charts. It's a clear mark of how low sales are right now. BTS having most of the top 20 surprises me, even though I do know of their popularity. Album bombs are getting really annoying.

The general low sales of course help random people with rabid fans top iTunes for a bit, but if the sales report for Wu are accurate, his sales are strong in general. If he sells 75k, for instance, that’s not far off “This is America” and “No Tears Left to Cry.” Who saw that coming?

It's interesting to see BTS's tracks already dark red. I guess that speaks to a very dedicated, but small base.

A small but very vocal fanbase in the US but Billboard.com sure does love them, non stop coverage

Surprisingly Kris Wu is still #1 on itunes and I'm shocked that BTS hasn't dethroned it yet despite having a rapid fanbase . It may be because they haven't put it on discount but that isn't a excuse for why it hasn't touched #1 on iTunes .

The BTS tracks are already dark red. I'm guessing something from the BBMAs will knock Wu down.

Is Kris Wu really that popular in the US or is there some stan army vpn manipulation going on here and if there is, will billboard actually do something about it?

What are its projected sales? #1 on iTunes can be a bit deceiving these days. However, his song "Deserve" did hit #1 on iTunes last year. This new song is discounted. He also recently singed with Universal Music Group, so maybe his promo is better this time.

If it hangs on to #1 long enough, it will still impact the Hot 100

Kris Wu still #1 while another Asian artist Jackson Wang is #2 It's interesting how massive some of these songs get on iTunes without any promotion. The only thing driving them are their fanbases who still buy singles instead of just streaming them.

The only thing driving them are their fanbases who still buy singles instead of just streaming them. These are very small fanbases (probably around 35k or so copies actually sold). Without support from radio or streaming most of these songs barely even reach the Hot 100. So proably not "massive", but it's decent exposure at least. I wouldn't know who Kris Wu is otherwise...
