Anyone know anything about this Chris Janson song? Just skyrocketed out of the blue into the top 10. It looks almost as if it were an instant grat song, but his album came out in February, IIRC. Also, he's just a small country artist that doesn't even have a hit in the country world. Like, what?
Also, Andy Grammer just came out of nowhere. He's suddenly #12. I knew the song had been selling decenty, but damn!

As for Andy Grammer's song, it's discounted to 69 cents on iTunes so that must be why.

As for Andy Grammer's song, it's discounted to 69 cents on iTunes so that must be why. I remember hearing it on a satellite radio rhythmic-pop station at Burger King on a countdown so I don't think it's purely country. Even if it is an instant grat, that doesn't explain why it shot to the top ten so quickly. Why are all of those pre-orders coming from? Chris Janson is not a well-known artist. Even in the country world. Also, Andy Grammer is not a country artist at all. Not sure what you read in my post to make you think I thought he was. Chris Janson is the country artist I was referring to. Andy Grammer has already had a minor hit in the past with "Keep Your Head Up." I know who he is, and his music is far from being country.

I predict "Shut Up and Dance", "Geronimo" and "King" are all going to break out and be Top 5 hits over the next 6 months.

Come on, Earned It! You can do it!!! So close to top 5! :( EDIT: yay it's in the top five now! And it looks like Uptown Funk! is surely getting a 12th week at #1 on Digital Songs, and quite possibly a 13th week which would tie it for the longest reign in the history of the chart...I wonder if it will beat this all-time record (though the chart has only been around for 10 years). I'm amazed at how well the song is holding up in sales! Clearly one of the most successful songs of the decade...

Mark Ronson will come out ahead for the just completed chart week. Wiz looks like a contender to take #1 in teh chart week just started though.

With UF beating Flo Rida's record, I don't mind SYA dominating now. I actually like the song :) it's a nice tribute...

I am not sold on "See You Again" dethroning "Uptown Funk" on the Hot 100 just yet. It is way behind in airplay. How is it doing in streaming? Of course it will on the Digital Songs chart though.

You are probably right but as Uptown Funk starts to fall from #1 on some of the component charts, it does spell the beginning of the end.
week 14 is a sure thing. If 'See You Again', dominates this chart throughout the week(which it could given how big the movie is), it may not need anything else to take #1 on the Hot 100 by week 16.

Sorry, not chart-related, but iTunes related. When I sync my iPhone to my iTunes, it changes a lot of the album titles, song titles, etc. I had made. I think it's since I did an update. Anyway, what setting do I need to uncheck or whatever to get iTunes to stop changing the info I have?

Rihanna...TRAGIC, career-derailing numbers for a tragic, career-derailing song. This is pre-album single, with a repressed release, music video and prior use in TV ads. The last time she released a repressed single digitally (What's My Name) it went #1 on the hot 100. From #1 to 18k sales...Jesus. Def Jam are definitely having some very agitated meetings right now. I think they forgot Rihanna is, and I mean this in the best way possible, an 'easy bake bops' artist. Like Beyonce, Britney or JLo, she relies on writing camps and is a 'muse' and a 'vessel', not an Artist. They are trying to turn her into an Artist this era, and it's not working, because she isn't one. "American Oxygen" is not a work of art, it's quite terrible actually. And it's hilarious that the guy who wrote the track came out saying he was blatantly trying to make a "Born in the USA" for Rihanna, as if a deeply nuanced, generation-defining anthem can just be requested and paid for. Let this be a lesson.
