MLJ 1.000000 LFN 0.738321 Lighters 0.691525 PRA 0.662171 *cough* LMFAO's PRA has a remix just outside of the top 100, so the total is ~0.732 (not 0.662)

7 Katy Perry Last Friday Night (T.G.I.F.) 0.519349
27 Katy Perry Last Friday Night (T.G.I.F.) [feat. Missy Elliott] 0.221693 rry Last Friday Night (T.G.I.F.) 0.221693
The remix is moving very slowly and the original version is losing some sales... it'll be interesting the outcome of this.

glad katy's remix isn't doing much. Well, as long as it does enough she should still hit #1.

Damn, she couldn't go top 10 by now for the remix of a current #1 airplay hit at 69 cents???

#7 last week was 116K, a remix in the 20s would net about 50K. This all assumes it holds position all week.
Last Friday Night last week was 151K

The problem Katy has the remix moved a little too slow. Eventually remixes decrease each update like most - S&M and TTWE - and if she can't hold on to her little lead, then kiss the #1 goodbye

This proves a release of a remix offers no guarantees on higher peaks. Because it worked with S&M, doesn't mean it will work every time.

Ugh...she needed someone with a big fan base. Missy don't have many stans anymore. She should have went with Rihanna, Nicki, Britney, Ke$ha, or hell even Taylor Swift.

If it doesn't reach #1, Dr. Luke better quit trying. This would be his third late-in-the-game remix post-"S&M" hitting #1 to fail to reach it.

Hopefully LMFAO can make it a 7th week. Party rock til school starts! :'( As long as there isn't a wide AI gap from LFN and the LFN remix stays creeping since its bound to hit its peak in about 2 days then start falling.

Looks like featuring Missy (who hasn't been relevant in years and is largely forgotten) on the remix was a mistake. They should've gone with someone who is still at the top of their game like Rihanna. ...GO PRA!

Like I mentioned before, Capitol overestimated how big her core fanbase was at the album release week, and they probably did it with this. They probably thought it would shoot up into the Top 10 iTunes off of her hype and name alone.

I feel like Rebecca Black on the remix would have done more.

I feel like Rebecca Black on the remix would have done more. Look at how "My Moment" has performed. RiRi or even Nicki Minaj would have helped more. Plus, had they announced the news of the remix release on Sunday and not on Friday, things would have been planned much better.

Yeah. Rebecca would've done nothing, tbh. No one really cares about her music.

That, in addition to Missy's nearly non-existent fanbase, is reason why the slow rise and relatively low peak of the remix -- even with a nearly 50 per cent discount. Had the remix been done with Britney, her rabid fanbase would've taken it straight to the top 10.

Capitol must know that Missy E. doesn't have the most rabid fanbase, so surely they didn't think the "remix" would sell like some other afterthought "remixes." Now, if it were Katy Perry guesting on a Missy Elliott track, that probably would have shot up a lot faster than this LFN release.

I'm more inclined to believe they (dumbly) thought it would be performing than it is now. This was all to get the #1 spot, so I doubt they would they throw out a remix, discount it, and not expect it to shoot up.

I believe Missy has still some fanbase and after her absence she could top 100k with her new album without big hit single. It's wrong to say she's irrelevant just because she hasn't really released anything in years.
But those two fanbases (Katy & Missy) might not click. Fans of Katy Perry probably have no idea who is Missy Elliott.

The label waited too much and went with a weak remix. (I think I've said this like 100 times already, so sorry for the repetition.) The way it is performing is not surprising if you were paying attention.

The label literally waited until interest was starting to wane because for weeks they didn't say anything about mixes instead of getting out the word that a remix was on the horizon to build up anticipation for it. 3 days isn't enough to time get the word out. They would've done better just putting up a TV and radio commercial encouraging people to buy the hot new dance mixes or the original song. Then on top of that the remix was so horrible. It's the same song with Missy tacked on. They knew it would be an uphill battle for LFN because of the competition at the time of it's release. They would've gotten more bang if they had tacked Missy on the remix that was in the video. People would instantly recognize it and download without even thinking about it.

As hot as the dance mixes may be, it's unlikely that even when combined, they would sell big amounts.
I think people need to get out of the mindframe that LFN is performing disappointingly or something. So what if the commercial bar has been set so high with Perry's singles? A No. 2 peak (for multiple weeks) for a fifth single- especially in this day and age- is SMASHING. If the "remix" doesn't help it get to No. 1, then the label will look at the situation and see that if it was their intent to push the track to No. 1 with this "remix," it recruited the wrong collaborator.

It really wasn't the collaborator's fault though. Missy's verse is good. The remix isn't different enough from the original to warrant the purchase even at 69 cents. That's why they should've used Missy as an opportunity to push the dance mix from the video. If they wanted to do a crappy remix, they should've called in a favor from Rihanna.

In terms of commercial appeal for a "remix," Missy isn't one of the first to pop to mind. And even if it were a hip-hop mix or something, it still likely would not be in the top 10 or anything.
And, yes, Rihanna, Spears, Ke$ha- recent "remix" collaborators- likely would have inspired more sales for the LFN "remix."

The remix is decreasing on Itunes.
Not looking good.
