Taio Cruz holds at #37 for another week with no end in sight for this long running AT40 chart song that seems to be the next "In Da Club" if not a "Yeah!" (If 50 Cent guest hosted AT40, he could have quoted this Taio song as an "In Da Club" clone since it is still on the AT40 chart)
Is Ryan back? And is AT40 still shafting "Moves Like Jagger"?

Here's Rick's chart...Moves Like Jagger is #25...so fresh: :irrelevance: How is this chart compiled so that 'Right There' is #13 and 'E.T.' is #39?

And what is the reason "Moves Like Jagger" has not yet made the Ryan Seacrest squirrel brained AT40 chart yet?

And what is the reason "Moves Like Jagger" has not yet made the Ryan Seacrest squirrel brained AT40 chart yet? On Mediabase with Recurrents two weeks ago, it was #35. Three weeks ago, it was #64. Considering AT40 tends to revolve 2-3 weeks behind Mediabase, it's pretty logical. Not 'squirrel brained.'

However, 'E.T.' is #12 on AT40 today, and even on Mediabase it's still at #16, that chart can't be based off spins if it's 23 places too low. Does his chart have any actual methodology behind it? Right There is #16 on AT40...so only three spots off...and let's be honest...E.T. is getting old...Rick drops them faster than Mediabase... So Rick Dees is using 1982 style Billboard chart data, I guess. Hmm, and where would that kind of information be obtained from in 2011? And why would he use that?

Slizzard...I wish I had the answer to that question, but I have been following his charts for years and I think he uses data from stations that lean more towards teens and 20's...almost disneyish....

Obviously not, but it's annoying to listen to a suspenseful radio countdown for three hours and then see the top eight right in front of me. You mean 4 hours! No. 3 hours. The final hour only just began. ;) How is this chart compiled so that 'Right There' is #13 and 'E.T.' is #39? Slizzard...I wish I had the answer to that question, but I have been following his charts for years and I think he uses data from stations that lean more towards teens and 20's...almost disneyish.... Well there's a difference between Disney-ish and teens/20's leaning. Teens/20's are the primary audience of CHR anyway, while Disney-ish is for little kids. ;) For the 1982 Billboard chart data a song would move slowly up the chart then hold a position for 3 to 6 weeks then take a big drop after peeking there. I know that. I'm wondering why he'd go out of his way to obtain that data and use it rather than normal Mediabase spins data, though.

Exactly...I think his countdown is influenced a little by both...alot of Disney stars seem to dominate his countdown and more rhythmic leaning CHR hits don't appear to do as well. Plus, his son, Kevin, does a Teen Top 20 countdown show on his website.

Well, on a 'Disney' or kid/tween-oriented CHR, I would think that they would favor recurrents such as 'E.T.', considering there would be a lesser spectrum of hits they can play compared to a CHR aimed at an older audience. That's what I was thinking. Which makes it weirder why 'E.T.' is so low. ![](http://yoursmiles.org/ssmile/fun/s0244.gif)

Next week's show will be interesting...I expect 4 songs to debut and I am curious how they will handle the long running songs like Dynamite, Tonight, Perfect, Stars, FU, and The First Time with a bunch of new songs cracking the Top 40.
Mediabase has these songs shuffling all around the 31-40 arena but it appears AT40 has stabalized them to the point where it would look odd for them to jump a few notches.
Can't wait for the action to unfold next week.

I bet Ryan Seacrest isn't putting "Moves Like Jagger" in "My Happy Ending" syndrome like it did for that said song in 2004!

Not sure if these are the songs you're referring to, but "You Make Me Feel", "Rain Over Me", "Stereo Hearts", and "Pumped Up Kicks" are now all in the mid-20s on Mediabase but nowhere to be seen on AT40. Even accounting for AT40 being a bit behind they should be on there (they're all on Rick Dees' show this week.) Amusingly, Ke$ha holds at #24 during her 24th week. If Nicki Minaj's "Super Bass" had debuted a week later, her listing on the above AT40 chart would win her something from a slot machine!
