26 25 PITBULL F/CHRIS BROWN International Love 3172 2825 347 21.738 + 229 Spins + 219 Bullet + 1.733 Audience
Everything got huge updates today, but this one was a lot more huge than I was expecting.
I still prefer "Rain Over Me", but I'm really glad this song is going well. "Rain Over Me" peaked at #20 (or #23 with recurrents), this one's at #25/#29 today. Hopefully "International Love" will pass "Give Me Everything" next weekend (they are 800 spins apart today), and pass the peak of "Rain Over Me" the following weekend. :)

This is the first Pitbull single since "Hotel Room Service" that I'm really digging. I'd love to see this make the top 10!

The album moved to #57 :o IL is making people to buy his album as well. And that's amazing! I think that ROM under performed because of the explicit lyrics. If you notice hey baby, GME and IL appeal to teens and everybody. Teens love those songs, and I'm sure they are buying his album too, cause on twitter I have seen people with nicknames as PitbullBieber, RihannaPitbull . And Pitbull is about to reach 3,000,000 followers on twitter too.

I always assumed ROM underperformed in the US because of Marc Anthony. Even though he was married to J Lo most people didn't think he was cool. Plus GME ended up lingering for a long time.

And Pitbull is about to reach 3,000,000 followers on twitter too. I fiercely disagree with why "Rain Over Me" underperformed. "Hotel Room Service" was raunchier, lyrically, than "Rain Over Me". Much raunchier, actually. And that stood to be the second Top Ten Billboard Hot 100 hit of his career. And it isn't like "International Love" is devoid of raunchy qualities either. The "Pit, you can have me and my sister!" lyric has raised some eyebrows (and some supposed irate reactions from self-professed Romanians on YouTube), for one. No, the reason "Rain Over Me" underperformed (at least in the United States, worldwide it was successful) can be attributed to what I think of as Musical Event Syndrome. "Give Me Everything" was that kind of hit that feels like more of a hit............but rather a phenomenon of sorts, almost like a massive box-office blockbuster trailer............which consequentially leaves follow-ups with sky high expectations as to "stand up" to that spectacle and, should they fail to, will inevitably be crushed under the musical event's own weight. "Give Me Everything" sounded so massive, so expensive, so anthemic...........it made "Rain Over Me" sound flat and one-dimensional in comparison. Jennifer Lopez suffered the same effect from "On The Floor". There was no way she could size up to something that colossal on the rest of "Love?". And acts like the Black Eyed Peas and LMFAO have only gotten away with similarly massive hits coming on the heels of initial blockbusters because they had the material at hand to size up to their initial blockbusters. Namaste, lisping HIBISCUS

Yes, you are right that ROM wasn't at the level of GME, but I still think that the lyrics could have influenced too. On the other hand, IL lyrics have double meaning but I don't find it so explicit. ON BEP and LMFAO: They have a good marketing team, and they released their second singles with a perfect timing. If Pitbull would have released' hey baby' 2 months before the album and then GME one month after the album, he would have sold more. But he tends to release his best singles one year before the album. And I don't know why?
On HRS: Yes, HRS is a better produced track than ROM, it's more catchy and it was top 8 on the billboard hot 100. It went that far because of its high sales on itunes, and also because it was huge in clubs. But If the lyric of HRS would have been more appealing, pop radio would have supported it more. (just like they did with IKYWME) For that reason, HRS only went top 11 on pop. So, I do think that lyrics play a big role in the success of a single (on the radio). :)

In Canada this is smashing harder. 4 Pitbull - International Love (feat. Chris Brown) 0.6121 In the USA,IL remains steady, IL is the only fourth single in the top 20 competing against first, second and third singles from other artists. :o. Also, the album is back in the top 40 on the world-charts. :o

BAD AI update today compared to the BIG spins' gain I don't think that's anything to worry about though. Unless that continues. But if you look, it is actually #20 on pop AI, but only #26 on pop spins. So its AI is quite good!!

I just can't quite get into this one yet. GME was just so instant for me. Maybe this one will grow, but right now, I'm not feeling it.

Nice audience! :) but if z100 put this on power rotation that might do wonders for this song. By the way, last night was #1 again on z 100. It looks like this is doing great in big cities like NYC and LA. :)

Guys I was thinking that Pitbull should make the remix of Ai se eu te pego' ( that's my favorite song right now) :) and that would smash hard! that's the kind of music that is missing in the top 20 on itunes right now! something with a unique melody, and different. And the good news is that Pitbull also loves 'Ai se eu te pego'. so I hope he is in talks with the original singer so that he can make the English version . :) Look at him, dancing 'Ai se te Pego' hahaha

#13 on itunes and with minimum airplay... #22 on pop and #19 on rhythmic..today this got only 76 spins. let's consider that Pitbull don't have the support of other formats. Just pop and rhythmic and almost top 10..Woo hitbull!!!!! So this is doing amazing!I'm satisfied with the performance of this song so far. Now i'm ready for the next single! :)

Just pop and rhythmic and almost top 10..Woo hitbull!!!!! So this is doing amazing!I'm satisfied with the performance of this song so far. Now i'm ready for the next single! :) He appears poised to chart his third top twenty hit on the Billboard Hot 100 by next week, if not this week. He has rebounded remarkably well after both his previous single as a lead performer, "Rain On Me", stalled in North America........and multiple releases as a featured performer failed to ever achieve take-off, including Enrique Iglesias' "I Like How It Feels", Shakira's "Rabiosa" and Timbaland's "Pass At Me". We'll have to see if he can conquer mainstream airwaves yet again as a featured performer this year. T-Pain's newest single is a real question mark, given it is coming on the heels of his first Top Ten hit as a lead artist in quite a while, yet was also preceded by a long streak of failed releases. Then you have will.i.am and Big Time Rush's forthcoming singles to factor in, which both could swing either way. With regards to the former, everyone knows his name, and yet he hasn't quite carved a successful solo career to date. He has produced numerous hit singles, yet has failed to replicate Fergie's degree of solo success as a songwriter and vocalist. As for the latter, they're steadily gaining in popularity as their new Top Thirty hit "Music Sounds Better With You" suggests............yet it remains to be seen if they're nothing more than another Disney instant-formula flash in the pan, or if they'll actually hit a further stride. Of course, that's not to say those are the only features Pitbull has on the horizon. After all, who could predict Enrique Iglesias and Jennifer Lopez would both get their first colossal hits (domestically, anyway) in nearly a decade each? Namaste, lisping HIBISCUS
