"We here at RAMP HQ were overjoyed that no one used the occasion of Labor Day or the beginning of October to push that eggnog-flavored all-Christmas format button -- yet, although with Halloween quickly approaching, someone may be tempted to become holly and jolly fairly soon. With the end of the year looming soon, our friends at Mediabase and BDS have released their chart schedules for your enjoyment. For Mediabase, Monday, Dec. 12 will be the final 2011 reporting day for Country, AC, Hot AC, Triple A and Christian AC, while Tuesday, Dec. 13 will be the final reporting day for Top 40, Rhythmic, Urban, Urban AC, Alternative, Active Rock, Rock, Latin and Canadian formats; the add board will close for the season on that Tuesday. That Monday and Tuesday are also the last reporting days of 2011 for BDS. Mediabase's final published charts for the year will come out Sunday, Dec. 18 for the week of Dec. 11-17. Chart data will also be published on Christmas Day and New Year's Day, but they won't remove recurrents. Mediabase's add board will reopen on Wednesday, Dec. 28. The BDS reporting websites will reopen on Friday, Dec. 30, and its first 2012 chart week will cover Dec. 26-Jan. 1, with charts closing on Tuesday, Jan. 3, 2012 since the BDS offices will be closed on Monday, Jan. 2 in observance of New Year's. With Mediabase also closed that Monday for the holiday, the first reporting day for all formats -- including those that normally close on Mondays -- will be Tuesday, Jan. 3, 2012. Mediabase's first chart of 2012, which will have recurrent rules reinstated, will come out on Sunday, Jan. 8 for the chart week of Jan. 1-7. "
