Before Mac and Wale I would have said about 70K max for Yelawolf. I say 120K now for him. He doesn't have a hit single, but the buzz around him is huge considering the hype Eminem is giving him.

Mac Miller, 'Twilight,' Romeo Santos Heading for Top of Billboard 200
November 11, 2011 By Keith Caulfield, Los Angeles
As we reported earlier this week, Mac Miller is about to make a splash on the Billboard 200 albums chart, as his "Blue Slide Park" debut is set to bow at No. 1 on the tally next week. Sources suggest the rapper's album could sell in the range of 160,000 to 180,000 by week's end on Sunday, Nov. 13.
If "Blue Slide" does bow atop the list, it will mark the first independently-distributed debut album to hit No. 1 since 1995, when The Dogg Pound's "Dogg Pound" started atop the list.
On SoundScan's Building chart below -- a precursor to the final Billboard 200 ranking -- reflecting the first four days (Monday through Thursday) of SoundScan's tracking week (ending Sunday) as reported by six major merchants, Miller is found at No. 1, while the new "The Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn - Part 1" soundtrack is in the No. 2 spot.
"Dawn" may mark the fourth soundtrack in the "Twilight" series to reach the top two slots on the chart. The first two "Twilight" soundtracks hit No. 1 on the Billboard 200, while the third, "Eclipse," reached No. 2 last year. Collectively, they have shifted 4.5 million in the U.S. according to Nielsen SoundScan.
The new "Dawn" soundtrack may sell around 100,000 copies, so say industry prognosticators.
The new "Now 40" compilation locks down the No. 3 slot on the Building Chart, and its expected to sell around 100,000. "Now 40" is available in two formats -- a standard 20 track edition as well as a 36 song version. The latter includes 16 hits from previous "Now" compilations, including Britney Spears' "Baby One More Time" and Lady Gaga's "Just Dance" featuring Colby O'Donis.
Michael Buble's "Christmas" is found at No. 4 on the Building tally, followed by Justin Bieber's "Under the Mistletoe" and Adele's still strong "21."
Aventura's Romeo Santos is at No. 7 on the Building Chart with his debut solo album, "Formula, Vol. 1," and it's projected to sell perhaps 65,000. It should easily debut at No. 1 on the Top Latin Albums chart and would secure the biggest sales week of any Latin album since way back on June 23, 2007, when Daddy Yankee's "El Cartel: the Big Boss," sold 82,000 in its first week according to Nielsen Soundscan.
Santos' first week could be further amplified by the impact gained from his performance on Thursday's (10) Latin Grammy Awards. He sang his current No. 1 Hot Latin Songs single "Promise," with Usher. 11.1 million viewers watched all or part of the three hour Latin Grammy show on Univision.
As for the rest of the Building chart, Coldplay's "Mylo Xyloto" is No. 9 while Miranda Lambert's "Four the Record" is No. 10.
Nielsen SoundScan Building Chart
Rank LW BB 200 Artist Title 1 NEW Mac Miller "Blue Slide Park" 2 NEW Soundtrack "The Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn - Part 1" 3 NEW Various Artists "Now 40" 4 8 Michael Buble "Christmas" 5 1 Justin Bieber "Under the Mistletoe" 6 5 Adele "21" 7 NEW Romeo Santos "Formula, Vol. 1" 8 4 Susan Boyle "Someone to Watch Over Me" 9 7 Coldplay "Mylo Xyloto" 10 3 Miranda Lambert "Four The Record"
(The Building Chart reflects the first four days (Monday through Thursday) of SoundScan's tracking week (which ends Sunday) as reported by six major merchants: iTunes, Trans World Entertainment, Best Buy, Starbucks, Target and Anderson Merchandisers. Billboard estimates that they make up about 85% of all U.S. album sales.)

I agree that a lot of people underestimated Scotty, but 1 million by January seems way too optimistic. He'd have to more than double his sales by the end of Christmas shopping to have a chance at platinum by the end of January. He's been selling steadily, but even with holiday sales increases, that seems really unlikely.

Poor Kelly, no estimates :( I would suggest an X-Factor performance but that doesn't have nearly as strong an effect in the US like it usually does in the UK.

It'd be kind of hilarious if Taylor and Rihanna were that close. But I'm not expecting Taylor to sell nearly that much. Would be awesome if she did though.

For christ sakes--the woman consistently puts out hit after hit records. And the majority of her songs are MASSIVE! She clearly has fans, a lot of hype, and her current tour is putting up solid numbers. I'm happy that her albums have legs, but why is it so hard for a MEGA-STAR to push 350k her first week? I just don't get it.

So Rihanna may finally land a #1 album? Good for her.
Who else has multiple #1 singles and no #1 albums?

^Billboard did a write-up on that not too long ago. This touches on both albums and singles:
WHICH SUPERSTARS HAVE YET TO HIT NO. 1?
Hi Gary,
With Lady Gaga starting at No. 1 on this week’s Billboard 200 with “Born This Way,” she celebrates her first leading album with her fourth such release.
It’s amazing that a superstar of her caliber, whom Forbes recently named the most powerful celebrity (displacing Oprah Winfrey at a time when the end of the latter entertainer’s massively influential talk show has garnered feverish press coverage … and fan panic) is just now getting to lay claim on having topped both of the industry’s two most influential charts: the Billboard 200 and Hot 100.
It got me to thinking of bona fide superstars who’ve not accomplished this companion feat.
Bruce Springsteen comes to mind. Although he’s notched No. 1 albums, he’s never tallied a No. 1 Hot 100 single.
It took Neil Diamond more than 40 years to score a No. 1 Billboard 200 album: 2008′s “Home Before Dark.”
And, curiously, the Pointer Sisters, a popular if not superstar group in the ’70s and ’80s, have appeared on a No. 1 single (“We Are the World”) and placed songs on two No. 1 albums (the “We Are the World” and “Beverly Hills Cop” soundtracks) without topping the Billboard 200 on their own.
What other acts might you or your readers consider superstars who have not logged a No. 1 on both the Billboard 200 and Hot 100?
(On a personal note, thank you for printing my letter recently about personal charts. It was an honor and a pleasure to see what some of my friends see as a curious hobby get validated by you and see other readers who share this kind of passion).
Thanks much, Gary!
George G. Kitchens III Bloomsburg, Pennsylvania
Hi George,
Happy to post your e-mail, and thanks for starting an intriguing new topic.
The artist that I first thought of happens to be the artist with the most Hot No. 1s without a Billboard 200 No. 1: Rihanna. She’s tallied 10 Hot 100 leaders but has yet to rule the Billboard 200. She’s peaked as high as No. 2 on the latter list with “Loud” in 2007 – and all five of her studio albums have reached the top 10.
Of the 35 acts with five or more Hot 100 No. 1s, Rihanna is one of a select few not to have led the Billboard 200: Daryl Hall John Oates, KC and the Sunshine Band and Frankie Valli/the 4 Seasons.
It’s fairest to consider mostly pop-leaning artists for the purposes of this discussion, as core country, R&B, Latin and rock artists generally don’t receive the crossover airplay required for a Hot 100 No. 1.
Still, Taylor Swift merits a mention. Her “Fearless” led the Billboard 200 for 11 weeks and follow-up “Speak Now” reigned for six frames. On the Hot 100, the No. 2-peaking “You Belong With Me” and “Today Was a Fairytale” mark her highest placements.
P!nk has notched three Hot 100 leaders but has yet to command the Billboard 200. Like Rihanna, she’s scored five Billboard 200 top 10s, with “Funhouse” rising highest (No. 2, 2008).
The act with the most Billboard 200 No. 1s yet no Hot 100 toppers? Bruce Springsteen, with nine Billboard 200 leaders. He’s amassed 12 Hot 100 top 10s, but “Dancing in the Dark,” which seemed ticketed for the top when it soared to No. 2 in six weeks, peaked there for four weeks in 1984 (blocked by Prince and the Revolution’s “When Doves Cry”).
The top-selling album artist in Nielsen SoundScan history (68.5 million) – Garth Brooks – has banked eight Billboard 200 No. 1s. On the Hot 100 – again, a victim of limitations due to his lack of crossover airplay – he peaked as high as No. 5 with “Lost in You” in 1999 (and he had to share the feat with his alter ego, Chris Gaines).
Led Zeppelin has sent seven albums to the Billboard 200 summit without ever having seen the view from the Hot 100 penthouse. Nor has another iconic rock act, Bob Dylan (again, “We Are the World” excluded).
Other pop artists who’ve become household names we could include in this category? The “Glee” cast has made a record 156 Hot 100 appearances, but hasn’t yet ranked above No. 4 on the chart. On the Billboard 200, the troupe boasts three No. 1s (and is 11-for-11 in reaching the top 10).
Miley Cyrus/Hannah Montana owns four Billboard 200 No. 1s, but pop radio’s trademark resistance to preteen/Disney Channel acts has so far hindered her shot at a Hot 100 leader. Same for Jonas Brothers and, oh yeah, the Top New Artist recipient at the 2011 Billboard Music Awards, Justin Bieber (two Billboard 200 No. 1s each).
Despite not having led both seminal charts, however, all the artists above have inarguably enjoyed immense success in their careers.
Perhaps the missing pieces on their chart resumes is somewhat comparative to a Hall of Fame athlete in a team sport that never won a championship, i.e., Ted Williams, Dan Marino or Charles Barkley. (Either LeBron James or Dirk Nowitzki (future hall of Famers) will soon cross his name off that list …)

So Rihanna may finally land a #1 album? Good for her. With sales of 230k, most likely not. Nickelback will clear at least 300k. In reference to cjay, I used to think that the fact that she churns out albums so quickly that run into each other might be why her first week tallies are never anything special. Especially in this day and age when people hardly buy albums as it is, to make consumers buy one every year could be a bit much. I mean, I got why "Rated R" only opened with 180k (even with hype, it had a flop lead single) and I got why "Loud" opened 200k (coming off a "shaky" era really quickly) but with the success of that album and her tour pulling in great numbers, she's on a high right now so it's still a bit strange that the US would be still one of her weaker territories. Granted she hasn't done a single promotional stint for the album and it's out next week so I wasn't expecting her to break 300k regardless. Her singles might be huge but I always wonder if the public actually can differentiate each of hers eras given the rate at which she churns out singles (WFL coming on the back of Cheers).

Yes, Mac is lower than estimates.
Wow at Buble's +37%.
Adele still top 5!
Wale collapses in his 2nd week.
Jackie Evancho up 44%.
All the Country artists gained due to to the CMA's.
SuBo's The Gift returns!
No GaGa in the Top 50.
Keith West and the Pink Floyd GH both do poorly.
