I heard this song for the first time this morning as it came roaring onto the 20: The Countdown Magazine chart all the way up at number 7. It sounds reminiscent of John Lennon and it is an awesome song. As far as I know, it's the highest debuting song on 20 since July, 2001 when "Live Out Loud" by Steven Curtis Chapman also debuted at number seven. And look what happened with that song, topping so many year end Christian countdowns. Could the same thing happen with this song? We'll have to see. I sure hope so!

Great song I admit. It is a bit shocking on its high debut on the Jon Rivers show. I don't know if this one can make it all the way to #1 on the R&R Christian Pop or AC charts though.

Great song I admit. It is a bit shocking on its high debut on the Jon Rivers show. I don't know if this one can make it all the way to #1 on the R&R Christian Pop or AC charts though. Based on its high debut, I think it will. The thing about the SCC song was that its lofty debut was the week after a special show and Jon said that was the song's second week on the chart. The week before 99 debuted on the chart was a regular weekly show and the song was Jon's personal pick. So we'll see how it does in the ensuing weeks. I predict number five this coming weekend.

This one is really good. It should chart well considering these guys are a CCM mainstay.

Did anyone catch 20: The Countdown Magazine this past weekend? What number was "Leaving 99"? (I only caught the Top Three, so it would have been no higher than number four).

If you've been reading my 20: The Countdown Magazine posts, you know that this song is definitely not living up to my expectations. It can't seem to make up its mind which way to go. As we all know, on February 14, it debuted at number seven, then it held at seven the next week. On Leap Day weekend, it fell back to #18, a big shock to me. Over the past few weeks it moved 18-11-11-12, where it holds this week. I have no idea how this song's gonna do. That's the thing about the chart 20: Countdown uses - you never know how a song's gonna do until it falls off the chart. Sometimes, not even then, as illustrated by the return of "You Are My King" by the Newsboys at #19 this week.
