Damn, the album was actually a lot better than I was expecting. It's not like the EP he put out last year, but it's more of a progressive step forward from it. It's still acoustic and singer/songwriter-esque, but it's more upbeat. I'd actually compare this to Ed Sheeran's X. "In the Arms of a Stranger" and "Silence" are definite tracks to check out, along with all of the remixes.

His voice has morphed into something tolerable and less screechy and foul-sounding. I can't believe I walked past this when I was buying Lemonade and Views and saw the cover art and was like wtf is this and kept walking because I am interested in this project.  Well, I will be back at Best Buy buying Deadpool today so I will probably pick it up. The Ibiza remix is so great. |

The oil lamp and tear makes sense, given the title. I wound up not getting this. Still on the fence. Something about his voice, idk. Even though it's more tolerable, it just throws me off. It works well in the context of Ibiza remix but over the course of a whole album??

The cover is a teardrop and a...balloon, from the man himself (in the CD booklet). This was a surprise purchase for me. I really hope I don't regret it.  @ the back cover including an artist bio and testimonials on how great he is by Big Sean, Avicii, Labrinth, and...Amanda Palmer LOL. |
