I have to wonder how long it'll be before "Paris" (or "In Paris") debuts on this chart. Not that I mind. It's an awful song. But it does have Top 10 potential.

This is sad, that Rick Dees chart is NOT accurate, because its missing one of the biggest hits right now Kanye & Jay Z "In Paris", what makes it even more ridiculous is that the song is in the playlist of most of the CHR pop stations, which include those ones Rick Dees is on and the show itself is actually much better than this overblown gossip show with Seacrest, why some people make their on charts and call it people's chart is not making sense at all.

This is clearly a boycott; however, I'm not really shouting about this one because he's not the only show boycotting the N**** In Paris song. The Weekend Countdown with Billy Bush & Sirius Hits 1 Countdown with Spyder Harrison also aren't playing the song in their Top 30 and 45 respectively.

A song with the offensive "N" in the title is clearly the reason behind this three show boycott. Why release the song with the "N" in title in the first place. Then, maybe no one would boycott your work...

Rick mentioned that "It Will Rain" is the first time that a song has hit #1 with "Rain" in its title since the 1980s. There were two: "Purple Rain" in 1984 and "Blame It On The Rain" in 1989.

It'll probably happen soon again with "Set Fire To The Rain."

Clearly, not every radio station found a way around this problem. XM/Sirius Hits 1 is a prime example along some Cumulus stations that air Billy Bush's show KROC/Rochester. Ask John Foxx in Cumulus Media Dallas (I-93) his opinion on this song or the research department at CBS radio.

Several stations are having a problem with the song title.

Maybe those stations can simply take a page from the book of the stations that ARE playing this song and take their queue. It's a good song, it's a hit and the lyrics, while choppy in the edited version, aren't any worse than a lot of songs with a title that doesn't contain any of the words that need to be edited.

It's a well-known fact that Jan Jefferies does avoid certain more urban leaning songs with her Cumulus CHR stations. This explains the slow add and quick drop of Lil Jon's "How To Love" & Nicki Minaj's "Super Bass" on Cumulus stations (also Billy Bush's countdown).

What we have here is a debate about profanity vs. racism. When it comes to racism, stations like to error on the side of caution. It's much easier to deal with swear words and compile with FCC guidelines than other side.

I think this is not about the words of the song, rather that it is deeply urban sounding song, there have been other examples in the past with Rick Dees, but In Paris is the most disturbing, because it really went almost top 15. Right now there is no Big Sean, also Lloyd's recent single didnt debut etc.

1. Still no Jay-Z and Kanye West "In Paris" - probably they don't play this song much enough in Rick Dees parallel universe of USA pop radio.
2.Madonna's latest single rises to nr 17 - probably Rick Dees parallel universe of USA pop chart is still in the 80s and .... Madonna isn't.
3. Turn Up The Music Chris Brown - highest debut of the week.
4. Suggestion - if Rick Dees won't play Kanye & Jay-Z song like ever, then I guess this thread should be moved to PERSONAL CHARTS thread, which reflects people's individual tastes not public's ones as Rick Dees chart reflects Rick Dees personal taste not...

If we had a list of stations that aired the show, we could see, but my thoughts are maybe that's why certain songs don't make the chart.
It's VERY possible that Rick Dees' chart isn't centred on being accurate but instead providing a source of 4-hour entertainment for radio stations that choose to play it. Why is that such a problem? We have access to the accurate charts online already. Do we need Rick to confirm it for us? Do we have to have the same conversation every week?

Only thing for sure is that Rick Dees is a big liar. Why do we need these chart datas at all, why he calls his chart top 40, when it aint. Yes we should have this topic every week until it's straight, Rick Dees crossed the line big time this time not playing a song in the top 40 when it actually reached top 15!!!!! He is a big liar and his chart isnt a chart, it's just random songs played. And what leanings are you talking about, is there a new category - pop, rhytmic, urban and then rick dees category ... ahahahahaaaa you make me laugh.
