When I heard Jon mention that there were three debuts in a row, I felt sure that "Leaving 99" had bitten the dust. But I was relieved when I heard that it was actually climbing back up the chart. I have a feeling that it'll be gone pretty soon, which is a shame, since the song was a big Top Ten on the R&R Christian A/C chart, but who knows? As I've said about this chart many a time, it ain't over till it's over. Sometimes not even then, as illustrated by the return of "You Are My King" by the Newsboys last month, as well as a few weeks ago, when Chris Rice disappeared after moving up to number fourteen the week before, and then returned. And what do you know, he moved from 17-14 last week and now he's gone. Can he return for a second time? We'll have to wait and see.
Building 429 continues their stranglehold on the number one position for a fifth week running, but they finally have a little competition. As "More" steps down two positions to #4, two songs move up inside the Top Three. Tree 63 moves up to the runner-up position and could take over soon. But right below is a song that I have a feeling will be the next number one song, "Who Am I" by Casting Crowns. "Here With Me" by MercyMe isn't out of the question as a future number one song either.
