Just did a RadioTraks survey to pick the next Maddie & Tae single. These were the choices.
Song 1 "Madness" Song 2 "Strangers" Song 3 "Don't Make Her Look Dumb" Song 4 "Bathroom Floor"
I hope it’s “Bathroom Floor”. It’s the only song from their last album which I thought it was funny they included it with songs from their new EP.

I’m worried their record label doesn’t know what to do with them. This approach was what they tried (releasing EPs before the album) and it didn’t pay off but here we are again. Why don’t they have a single out right now?

I hope it’s “Bathroom Floor”. It’s the only song from their last album which I thought it was funny they included it with songs from their new EP. Why don’t they have a single out right now? Usually, the answer is because of a label's timeline. They like to have enough resources allocated for a single's release, and generally only have three artists' singles out at one time, on any given imprint, although sometimes there are more. They just want to make sure they have the right single decided on and the resources in place to promote it, before sending a song to country radio. Tae's pregnancy probably factored in as well, and it makes more sense to wait for the spring and summer when touring becomes more frequent. I don't think it's alarming at all that M&T haven't had a single in the past few months; they only let go of promotion of "Woman You Got" in September of 2021, and the label probably already had some set-in-stone plans for Q1, 2022.

I definitely think Tae's pregnancy has a lot to do with it. She was on bed rest and delivered super early, and the baby will be in NICU for a while. They wouldn't have been able to promote a single really, so it makes sense for them to have waited.
I am still Team Bathroom Floor or bust.

Bathroom Floor is easily the most radio ready song of the 4, but given its age could it still have a chance to be a hit? Hard to say. I would laugh if it got picked since they are supposedly in a new era now. Of course if they release a full length album down the road i guess they could always slap it on there again, i mean jake owen did it years ago with 8 Second Ride so its not unheard of.
Of the songs from the new ep my pick would be Don’t Make Her Look Dumb.

So I am either "Strangers" or "Bathroom Floor" imo for the next single, the former has more buzz and the latter is a jam

At this point I think the "Bathroom Floor" ship has sailed and it would just be an odd move to pivot back to a single from their last album when they've moved on to releasing new music. They could tack it onto a future third album, especially if it did some chart damage for them, but it still would feel a bit... regressive at this point.
"Strangers" sounds like something that has potential imo. I'd go with that one personally.

Restless Road’s song “Growing Old With You” has been added to the Hot Country playlist on Spotify. This is good, right? I’ve heard that this playlist is very influential in the country genre.

"Strangers" for the next single, it's my favorite song by them.

There is an ad saying Note To Self from Randy Houser in Country Aircheck this week. Possibly the name of new single?

Probably a secondary radio release, but Mike and the Moonpie's Paycheck to Paycheck is impacting on April 18th.

Sorry for double post, I saw that Cody Johnson's By Your Grace is impacting Christian radio, but I saw it listed in Cool New Music in country section too. Possible next single at country radio too?

Any chance that Mackenzie Porter's next US single will be "Pickup"? K102 played it today and they never play a non single unless it's a major act.

I surely hope that MacKenzie tries another single in the US while people are still recognizing her name from the hit of Thinkin' Bout You. Pickup has been doing well in Canada so far as a lead single of her new era, and I think it's a catchy radio friendly tune that has a potential to become a cross-national hit if promoted well by Big Loud.

I personally think "Coming Soon to a Bar Near You" would be her best bet at a standout solo hit. That one sounds like a smash to me. "Pickup" feels like a safe hit that may work for radio, but it doesn't really stand out and feels kinda meh to me. It's okay, but "Coming Soon" is a great song.

I just saw it got one add last week and it was K102. And I did hear it again today so hopefully it will get a shot.

It’s also co-written by Lainey Wilson.

This is really good! I've missed T2. Glad they're getting another go on a label. Even if there's virtually no chance that they'll ever be successful again in the mainstream, it's nice that they'll have the opportunity to release some more music.
