Chase Rice has released "How She Rolls" to radio via Play MPE. AllAccess lists no label, but I wouldn't be surprised if he gets picked up by a bigger label soon.

Yikes! Tons of tunes with June 24 adds dates: Jason's "Night Train", Taylor's "Red", Miranda's "All Kinds Of Kinds", Craig Morgan's "Wake Up Loving You", Aaron Lewis' "Granddaddy's Gun", Andy Gibson's "Best Thing", Sarah Darling's "Little Umbrellas", Gwen Sebastian's "Suitcase", and Dylan Scott's "Makin' This Boy Go Crazy" (moved back from its original June 3rd date).
Most of those new artists are really gonna struggle, I think. Jason already got a good deal of adds but I still expect him to do the best. I think Miranda will do pretty well right out the gate but I wouldn't be surprised to see AKOK struggle to reach the top 10, given that it's a 5th single and also because the subject matter is a bit more 'out-of-the-box' than that of most other country radio singles. Taylor should do just fine, and Craig might do alright since it's a lead single. But the Curb/Sidewalk artists (Andy and Dylan) probably won't do very well, while Aaron, Gwen, and Sarah (especially the latter two) are on small indie labels. I'm just surprised that so many relative newcomers stuck with the June 24th adds date, once Jason, Taylor, and Miranda were given that date. I figured a couple of the newer artists would push their singles back to July 1 or 8.

Has anything been said at all about Kree Harrison in regards to "All Cried Out" going to radio? I just love her and this song and I kinda expected it to have been given a treatment similar to what Scotty McCreery got with his coronation single (especially considering how good "All Cried Out" is an tailor-made for country radio, as oppose to a typical winner's single).

I don't think she's officially signed a contract with anyone yet, so that would have to happen first, but I'm slightly surprised it hasn't yet. I'm hoping she does get picked up by someone though.

Scotty and Lauren immediately got picked up by Interscope/Mercury. I don't think Kree will do much at radio, even if she signs with a label soon. AI is just bleeding momentum and I think there's a big difference between winning and placing 2nd on such a show. I'd look for some of the country acts from the current season of The Voice to make more waves at radio than Kree will. Also, we're getting so many country stars come from these reality shows...it's good that the contestants want to sing country music but radio isn't gonna be able to play all these TV show winners (or runners-up, etc) at a top 20 level...RaeLynn is still waiting in the wings, Cassadee Pope is off to a great start, we still have Scotty and Lauren, Kellie Pickler, Casey James, Tate Stevens...I really think it'll be a couple of years again before a country singer comes off a singing competition and makes a bigger impact at country radio. I do think radio will get behind Cassadee, and Scotty has had some moderate success. Kellie Pickler and Casey James can probably score some decent hits yet but I don't think the others are gonna do much. If a country singer wins the Voice, they might be able to do pretty well also, but after that I don't think there will really be any 'openings' for a reality show contestant or a former contestant from a few years back to really break through at radio.

The key with Radio is the Radio tour. Kree WILL be signed by a label, declining ratings or not, she's beloved in the community (not unlike Little Big Town). It'll just take time to launch her career not unlike what Republic did with Cassadee. Once the Idol tour is done, Kree will focus on that and hopefully get a single out by fall and I'd bet on the album for 2014. IF she had won, the show was gonna rush the album out this summer, that's gonna make the winner Candice Glover's album flop. It's all about timing with artists and radio, not so much where they start. This is why RaeLynn has 'waited' rather than be rushed.

Yeah Kree already has so many connections in the industry and from what I can tell has a lot of people who like her that I can't see UMG passing on the chance to be the one's to launch her. Maybe she flops and is never really a star but there's so much potential there that it's inevitable that she'll get her shot.

If Kree gets signed, you can guarantee there will be some Kacey Musgraves songs/co-writes on Kree's album. And we know how everyone feels about Kacey right now.

Yeah, I think there's a lot of potential for Kree to be successful in country music regardless of how successful Idol is as a show anymore. I can see her making a significant mark on country music, but The Voice country fodder leaves me feeling like they will have a short shelf-life.

Taste of Country is reporting that the Civil Wars' new single is The One That Got Away. I know there was a thread here, but it got locked. Can it be reopened?
The Civil Wars have released a new single called ‘The One That Got Away’ and made it available to fans via videos on Vevo and YouTube. The gloomy ballad marks the return of Joy Williams and John Paul White after seemingly announcing their breakup last November. In addition, a timeline for their next album was made available. The follow-up to the critically acclaimed ‘Barton Hollow’ will be released on August 6. All may not be well with Williams and White however. In a press release from the duo’s label, the tension that cause them to cancel all remaining touring dates was addressed and embraced. “The [new] album was recorded amidst a grueling touring schedule, exhausting workload and a growing disconnect from their families,” it reads, according to Entertainment Weekly. “I miss the way you wanted me / When I was staying just out of your reach / Begging for the slightest touch / Ooo you couldn’t get enough,” Williams sings during the second verse. The song is ripe with drama, oozing dark emotions. “I wish you were the one / I wish you were the one that got away,” they sing during each chorus. The new album will be self-titled. It was recorded between August 2012 and January 2013, according to the Times Daily. Charlie Peacock returns to produce the project.

These days, the term "single" doesn't always mean radio single. We'll only move the thread back to country if this song gets an adds date and actually gets released to country radio. And, considering that The Civil Wars are not on a Nashville-based country label, I'm still unconvinced that that will happen.

Anyone else notice ad in Country Aircheck...All we need is a "RADIO", impacting July 8. Looks like that is next single from Darius Rucker. But of course they would release this...sounds just like every other single he's put out except WW. I was really hoping for Lost in You or Leavin The Light On

Danielle Bradbery single news:
The ink is barely dry on her new recording contract, but rising star Danielle Bradbery is already getting set for the release of her first single. The 16-year-old winner of the fourth season of NBC’s ‘The Voice’ has revealed the title, art work and release date for her debut, which will be released to digital retailers in less than two weeks. According to Roughstock, Bradbery has been in the studio working with songwriter Brett James, who also produces Kip Moore. James co-wrote the new song, ‘The Heart of Dixie,’ with Troy Verges and Caitlyn Smith. It will be available via digital retailers on July 16. That’s less than one month after Bradbery was declared the winner of ‘The Voice’ on June 18. She signed a deal with Big Machine Label Group the very next day. The new deal makes her labelmates with some of country’s hottest acts, including Taylor Swift, Justin Moore and the Band Perry. ‘The Heart of Dixie’ is the advance first single from an album that Bradbery will release in the fall.

Not sure if that's a good thing or a bad thing that her single is going out so quickly. Cassadee took her time and went on a radio tour, which undoubtedly is helping her get off to a quick start on radio. Danielle isn't going to have the opportunity to do that, which could hurt her. BUT, I feel like radio and country music could still be very welcoming to her. I'm hoping this quick push for her means that Big Machine really wants her to succeed and has faith that she will.
On a negative note, her single will likely directly compete with Cassadee's for airplay and radio may not want to play both of them, at least not at first.

I'm sure they'll be taking her on a radio tour as the single roll-out moves along. They can take songwriters out with them on the buses/vans and hit a bunch of places and continue to stop at others as the single is starting to move up.

I wonder what RaeLyn thinks about all this lol they've been sitting on her for what almost a year now? I can see her getting dropped before we get an album. I mean look how much time they spent on Ella Mae Bowen just to let her go last month.

Yeah, I almost feel bad for RaeLyn, but then I remember "Boyfriend"... RaeLynn recently signed a contract with Big Machine's publishing division, so I don't think they'll drop the recording contract without trying at least one or two singles. I could be wrong though. But with Blake and Miranda saying that she feels like a little sister to them (or however they call it...she's 'tight' with them), I think that will help her at least get a single out to radio. Ultimately, though, I don't think she has a chance at lasting success, while I DO think Bradbery and Pope could make some waves.

Danielle is coming off this season with lots of buzz much like Scotty after he won. This could make top 15 like "I Love You This Big" without any radio tour.
I do feel bad for Cassadee Pope though. Seems like Danielle is going to steal her thunder very soon. The best new artist battle between Pope and Bradbery for the fan-voted 2014 ACMs and CMTs should be interesting.

I can finally start rooting for Greg Bates again! Hopefully his label will make an attempt to release the album this time; it's been long overdue imo.

Oops. I totally forgot about Rodney Atkins' existence. Glad he'll be back with new music soon though. I like most of his past stuff, although his last album wasn't very good other than "Take a Back Road" and I think he had another single that I grew to find halfway decent, but seeing as I cannot remember it at all, shows that it wasn't memorable.
So if he's back with songs like TABR and stuff from his breakout album, then I'm excited.
Also, glad Greg will have new music soon and that BM is still with him.

Crystal Shawanda just released another new single, "I'm Gonna Love You Anyway," to Canadian country stations, and you can hear a preview here.
