Be careful what you wish for, buddy. We got one of the biggest hits of the year out of the crap-fest that is commonly well-known as "Boys 'Round Here" (pretty much one of the songs that made me steer clear of radio a good while back; grad school will do that to you). That's all I got to say for Blake.
I do hope that Chris Young moves on to another single soon, though. I'm virtually disgusted at the idea of "Aw Naw" making it to the top 5. I'd like to see either "Hold You To It", "Who I Am With You", or the title track as singles somewhere down the line. As mentioned previously, I'd also prefer a non-party type single next.

A Big Machine Rep was at Clear Channel in Hartford and played the next single for Rascal Flatts.
Cory Myers one of the DJs and the MD for Country 92.5 (WWYZ/Hartford) got to hear it and talked about it a bit on the air, she said, "It's called, I believe it's called Rewind, not as uptempo as Banjo but slightly more uptempo than I Melt. Gary has never sounded better, the vocals are stellar! Like the music is killer"
When asked by her morning co-host when could they start playing it she said she thinks after the New Year.
I'm not going to make a single thread just yet cause in my opinion its still early cause I bet there was more played and things can always change.

I heard from JANA KRAMER'S twitter account that a song called "I still believe in you" is going to be her new single! www.youtube.com/watch?v=zF83F3VBa2I I know it's not enough to really confirm it but I would be so happy!

She can join the Desert Rose Band and Vince Gill with having songs with those titles. Hope it works out for Jana Kramer. I love her!

Blake's string of ballads drives me nuts and I would prefer he does an un tempo song that, as much as I like her, doesn't have Miranda. However, you are right about "Boys 'Round Here" it was, in my opinion, cluttered and sounded "very LA"/ frat boy. On to Chris Young- I've been waiting for a new single to be announced. I thought because he and Billy Currington have a similar game plan, with albums released the same date and "Hey Girl" a few weeks ahead of "Aw Naw", that we would've heard by now. Billy has already announced his new single. (What's it been 3+ weeks ago?) With the holidays coming, and how they freeze radio, I'm curious if the label will announce after the new year. (Also, is it possible that the label is dragging it's feet to focus on Jake Owen's album release?

Just yesterday I was wondering what had happened to Kelleigh! That's good to hear.

Kelleigh Bannen is releasing a new single, "Famous", next week! Now let's just hope EMI puts a little more effort into promoting this one, unlike what happened to "Sorry On The Rocks". Also I still think that song suffered a bit from Toby's "Hope On The Rocks" coming out during it's run, she may have made the top 40 at least if that hadn't come out.

And today we have our first Christmas singles appearing on the Mediabase Add Board! KEGA in Salt Lake City added both Jana Kramer's "Have Yourself A Merry Little Christmas" and Brett Eldredge's "Mary Did You Know?"
I wonder if these will be just digital singles, or if Warner Music Nashville is putting out a CD featuring holiday tunes from several of their artists?

That's my least favorite from the songs released. I'd prefer "Ghost Town" as the new single. By the way, welcome to Pulse Music Board!

That's my least favorite from the songs released. I'd prefer "Ghost Town" as the new single. I thought this song sounded most like Heaven from his last CD, and we all know that should have been a single, and a easy #1. Definitely not lyrically anywhere near Heaven, but I love the tone, and simplicity of this one! Ghost Town and Beachin' will almost have to be singles in the future for sure. After listening to the CD, can't really think of a song I really hated all that much.

If What We Ain't Got is actually Jakes next single, they are making a bigggg mistake. Doubt it would make top 20. Ghost Town and Beachin should be no-brainers for the next 2 singles...

Of all the songs released on iTunes so far, only Beachin is a Big Hit IMO. I can't see Ghost Town or What We Aint Got catching on. I am looking forward to hearing his whole Album but so far I'm disappointed with what I've heard. Nothing at all moves me or stands out.

^Yeah, I can see that, but it's going to be a huge hit next summer If I had to predict.

I myself wouldn't wanna inflict bodely harm when listening to "Beachin", but the verses of the song are really unpleasent to listen to. But "Ghost Town" I think is really good and I believe would do well as the second single. Funny how we all seem to have vastly different opinions of these three songs.

I admit, I'm really not a fan of any of Jake Owen's music so far. I think his voice sounds so out of place on most of his songs and even when I think the lyrics of the song are good as in "What We Aint Got", his voice ruins it for me. I am surprised that "Days of Gold" never really caught on, but "Beachin" sounds like something that will go over well with the listening culture of today's country radio.

"Beachin'" sounds like a "Barefoot Blue Jean Night" type of song. "Ghost Town" should be a single, but recently labels have been botching single selections left and right, so they might as well release "What We Ain't Got". I don't hear Barefoot Bluejean at all in Beachin'. BBJN is among my absolute favorites of the past few years, but with Beachin' all I hear is just a bro-country train wreck. I previewed the album and on first listen it seemed pretty solid, not as good as his last, but there seemed to be plenty of good radio songs. I sincerely hope I never have to hear that mess on the radio. Ghost Town on the other hand seems like a no-brainer 2nd single to me. It reminds me a lot of Alone With You, just with a bit more tempo. What We Ain't Got would only make a good single if it followed a big hit giving Jake momentum. Drivin' All Night would make a great choice too, that's probably my favorite off the album.

Jake is doing a fb chat and this was brought up. Since others mentioned the song I thought it'd be alright to bring in here. Second single hasn't been decided but WWAG is on the list of single options.
Name removed for privacy: And what's the next single? If it's not What We Ain't Got, would you consider it for a single?
Jake Owen: It's definitely going to be a single.... not sure if it's next or not.

"Based on a True Story..." hasn't even been out for a year and it looks like they are already moving on. Why not announce a fourth single now and make its add date in January. It makes no sense til January to "announce" a new single. Moving on? Where are you getting this info from?

Warner is waiting til Jan to release the next Blake single off this record and is planning on going 5 singles deep. There will be 2 more singles off the Based On A True Story record.

^It just won Album of the Year at the CMAs. I would be surprised if it did not go 5 singles deep.

I've read that Carrie Underwood's "My Favorite Things" is going to be sent to radio. I haven't found an official source confirming it, but I could see it being true. That song has gradually been accepted as a Christmas song, so I could see it being a holiday hit for her this year.

Lorrie Morgan had a Christmas hit from it back in the 90s that I grew up listening to.

Lorrie's version is the first time I remember it being associated with Christmas, but I just looked it up and people have been putting it on Christmas albums since the 60s.

So coming in January, for upcoming singles, we have Keith Urban, Tim McGraw, Jake Owen, Blake Shelton, Chris Young and maybe Eric Church? Am I missing anybody? I think we're supposed to get a Miranda Lambert lead single too. I'm sure I read that on here somewhere.
