The tracks listing sounds interesting. I'm really interested to see hear how Thank God For Hometowns sounds like.

I love his version of Seven Days. He made it different from Kenny's and that is what I like about it. It has a little bit more production then the version that Kenny did. I'm interested to see if he is ever going to release it to radio.

I really like the clips of Lee's album. The 2 songs that stood out to me the most are "That's When You Know It's Over" and "Friends We Won't Forget". I loved what I heard from those songs. However, I'm not really feeling the weird sounds in the background of "Seven Days"...I still like the song and maybe I'll like the full version, but it'll be hard to top Kenny's version. "Beer" sounds really funny and I really like the title track. I've never bought a Lee Brice album before, but I might have to get this one.

"Life Off My Years" was slated to be on Eric Church's "Chief". He wrote it, but it didn't make the cut. He has said that "I Drive Your Truck" will probably be a single, as it should be. That could be a career changing hit for him. From 30 seconds, I love his vocals on "Seven Days", I hope he releases that to radio too. "Friends We Won't Forget", and "Don't Believe Everything You Think" sound like good songs, that could be on radio.

I posted this in the "Blown Away" album thread but I think it's relevant for here as well, and will likely be noticed by fans here. Carrie Underwood " Blown Away" (Arista Nashville) Release Date: May 1Track List:1. Good Girl (Carrie Underwood/Ashley Gorley/Chris DeStefano) 2. Blown Away (Josh Kear/Chris Tompkins) 3. Two Black Cadillacs (Carrie Underwood/Hillary Lindsey/Josh Kear) 4. See You Again (Carrie Underwood/Hillary Lindsey/David Hodges) 5. Do You Think About Me (Hillary Lindsey/Cary Barlowe/Shane Stevens) 6. Forever Changed (Hillary Lindsey/Tom Douglas/James Slater) 7. Nobody Ever Told You (Carrie Underwood/Hillary Lindsey/Luke Laird) 8. One Way Ticket (Carrie Underwood/Josh Kear/Luke Laird) 9. Thank God for Hometowns (HIllary Lindsey/Luke Laird/Ashley Gorley) 10. Good in Goodbye (Carrie Underwood/Hillary Linsdsey/Ryan Tedder) 11. Leave Love Alone (Hillary Lindsey/Gordie Sampson/Troy Verges) 12. Cupid's Got a Shotgun (Carrie Underwood/Josh Kear/Chris Tompkins) 13. Wine After Whiskey (Carrie Underwood/Tom Shapiro/Dave Berg) 14. Who Are You (Wendell Mobley/Neil Thrasher/Claude Kelly) Source: Barnes & Noble website (Track List), ASCAP/BMI/Songfile (Songwriting Credits--thanks to Typo for compiling the list) Geez Arista, being a little stingy with ONLY fourteen songs? At least you could have thrown in Remind Me as a bonus track!

I was actually thinking she'd settle for 11 tracks like almost everyone else. Seeing 14 tracks made me drop my jaw a little. I'm sure we're in for a wonderful surprise here.

With each new album, I cling to a little bit of hope that they'll get back to a more country sound. Sadly, it sounds like this album is a continuation of the last ten years. I honestly don't even know why I get my hopes up anymore.

To show how country they are, Rascal Flatts decided to release a cover of the old 90s Country Favorite "Next To You, Next To Me"... Lol

From HITS:
Lionel Richie’s Mercury Nashville bow, Tuskegee, a collection of his greatest hits performed with country stars such as Blake Shelton, Jason Aldean, Kenny Chesney, Rascal Flatts, Tim McGraw, Shania Twain, Willie Nelson and Jimmy Buffett, is the big surprise, with a robust first-week estimate in the 140-160k range. The album has even hit the #1 slot at iTunes over Madonna.
Impressive! :O

Taste of Country gave it a very sarcastic review... Lionel Richie, ‘Tuskegee’ – Album Review By: Billy Dukes Universal Music Group Nashville Country music fans under 40 are left scratching their heads about all the hype surrounding Lionel Richie‘s courting of Nashville’s greatest artists. First it was a duet with Shania Twain, now a full album of duets called ‘Tuskegee,’ and soon, the topper — a night in his honor after the ACM Awards next week. It all feels a little bit … random. There’s no getting around Richie’s talent and influence, but it’s difficult to believe that every artist featured on ‘Tuskegee’ grew up listening to hits like ‘Easy,’ ‘Stuck on You’ and ‘Dancing on the Ceiling.’ Though they both grew up in the south, there isn’t a scent of soulful pop on anything Jason Aldean has ever recorded, yet there he is, singing away with conviction on ‘Say You, Say Me.’ It’s worth getting over the question of “Why?” to discover 13 collaborators all at the top of their game alongside Richie. Not every song turns out to be a memorable recreation of the original — Tim McGraw‘s parts on ‘Sail On’ fail to draw distinction — but there are many pleasant surprises. It’s been a decade or more since Willie Nelson sounded as strong as he does on ‘Easy,’ and Darius Rucker, an artist whose enthusiasm rarely disappoints, finds a new level of energy and excitement singing ‘Stuck on You’ alongside Richie. Kenny Chesney‘s ‘My Love’ and Little Big Town‘s ‘Deep River Woman’ are two more highlights that more than make up for momentum dips like the thick, syrupy ‘Endless Love’ with Shania Twain and ‘All Night Long’ with Jimmy Buffett. The concept of his album is unique, although the execution is at times flawed (Who really sat around thinking, “I wonder what Billy Currington would sound like singing with Lionel Richie?”). Younger fans willing to take a chance at iTunes will find a great contemporary singer making everyone in the room better. The production is sharp and there are moments it sounds like the everyone is having the time of their lives. It should make an exciting television special — ‘Lionel Richie and Friends – In Concert — although it’s doubtful anyone born after President Reagan was elected will be setting their DVRs. I highly disagree with this. My favorite thing was reading the comments. Jimmy Carter who we all know from calling into radio stations and being a very respected music critic replied to it and said this... "Jimmy Carter · Auburn Montgomery Pitiful review.....uneducated...unaware...without a clue...go back and listen to you ageless hip hop and inventive metal electronic and wait for the Madonna tour....very sad..." Gotta love Jimmy Carter for putting an amateur writer in his place! tasteofcountry.com/lionel-richie-tuskegee/

^I agree as well. And it's not because it's a bad album...I don't think that at all. Even the reviewer that some of the commenters have so kindly trashed still gave the album 4 out of 5 stars. He was merely commenting on how the album feels quite random, and it's not perfect...and I definitely agree with that, especially the "random" part.

Yes, I think you are in the minority. I have read many reviews on Tuskegee and this has to be the worse and most disrespectful and from Country's own outlet. Mr. Carter's review of the review was spot on. Mr. Dukes "Why you got to be so mean?"
Do we have a thread for Tuskegee. I went looking for it to post soemthing and couldn't find it.
I feel the 140-160K maybe low ball estimate. He sold 20,000 in one hour at HSN. He is #1 at both Amazon and itunes ; not just country charts but overall. The DJ I listen to in the AM have bought copies and already talking about this on their AM shows. Does the week end on Sat or Sun, with the ACM appearance? I am sure it will be the higher end of the estimate if not more.
I do think people born after Reagan maybe Tivo/DVR the special and watching post-airing on the internet with the lineup of stars they have performing.

... if that's a bad/mean review, then clearly I've forgotten what words mean.
And I can't stand Jimmy Carter, so whatever.

I guess maybe I'm not reading the same Dukes review you are, but I'm not finding anything in the review that makes it 'disrespectful'. It's a review...it hits on the pros and the cons. That's what a review is.

I'm with the reviewer as well. If anything, I think he was to charitable. I believe I read that this album started off as a album of new country material with guest stars but somehow morphed into Mr. Richies Greatest Hits with today's Contemporary Country Stars thrown in for good measure. That does NOT make for a country album. It may have worked had they made considerable changes in arrangements , but they didn't. And yes the entire album comes off very random. I'm not particularly a fan of Lionel's, but Ive enjoyed a few of his songs. I did watch a interview on Piers Morgan last night and he does seem like a charming enough fellow. I Love Easy Like Sunday Morning (and Willie) , but the arrangement just kills the song for me & I feel the original had a more country groove then this remake. I also enjoyed that Original Alabama duets , but found the remakes VERY lackluster. Jimmy Carter is a movie critic.....and should remain one.
