^ And with that, we now have a contender for worst album title and album cover of 2012.

I honestly don't mind the album cover; the title on the other hand, I don't really like it so much.

Kenny Chesney is set to release his highly anticipated 13th studio album, Welcome to the Fishbowl, on June 19. The superstar revealed the new album title and artwork to “USA Today” this morning.
Chesney says the unique title spawned from a conversation he had at a beach bar called The Red Bar in Grayton Beach, Florida. He was with some of his football-playing friends when the idea came to him.
“We walked in, and it was packed,” Chesney recalls (quote via “USA Today”). “There was about 20 minutes of people coming up, saying hello, wanting to get something signed.
“After that died down, one of those guys said, ‘I didn’t realize your life was like this.’ I said, ‘Hey, man, welcome to the fishbowl.’ As soon as I said it, I realized that I was going to write a song about how our world and our culture is shrinking.”
The title track isn’t necessarily about being a celebrity and dealing with the pressures of fame though.
“In fact, at the end of the song I speak to celebrities and say, ‘You asked for this,’ ” Chesney says. “But you don’t have to be in the public eye for your business to be everybody’s business. And that’s just the way it is.”
As for the rest of the songs on Welcome to the Fishbowl, Chesney says fans can expect great songs as well as songs that will continue to fill football stadiums.
“I think that’s what I’m enjoying about this part in my career,” he says, “and the new album’s going to show that even more. Not a lot of artists, especially if they’re as mainstream as me, have that freedom.”
On June 2, Chesney will embark on one of this summer’s hottest concert tours, the “Brothers of the Sun” Tour, alongside his good buddy Tim McGraw.
“We start rehearsing (for the tour) after the ACMs, and we start piecing it all together,” says Chesney.
Chesney says he plans to preview at least three new songs in his set while on tour this summer.
“I try to fill my sets full of songs that everybody lives with every day. To play a new song in a stadium, you might lose people. They might tune out for three minutes. But I’m at a point in my life where I want to play them new music. I want them to know we might do ‘Fishbowl’ and a couple more.”
“I’m looking forward to playing new music for everybody,” he adds. “It’s going to be an incredibly fun and passionate summer.” www.countrymusicislove.com/2012/03/kenny-chesney-reveals-new-album-title-artwork.htmlThe fishbowl title makes complete sense; I thought of the reasoning he mentions above when I saw the title. Considering Chesney took a year off from touring last year, he may have been searching for some kind of relief from the celebrity "fishbowl," world. It'd be interesting if he took that kind of reflective approach to the music, but judging by his comments it's not gonna be much different from his previous efforts. I'm not a Chesney fan at all, but the songs I do like of his tend to be the more reflective, mature cuts ("I Go Back," "Don't Blink," "There Goes My Life"). I'd like to think this break would've caused him to change up his direction a little bit, but it looks like that's not happening. I know his whole "frat boy" image is a huge part of his popularity, but seriously...he's 40 years old, can he please switch it up a little? He's not gonna be able to do this forever... I could care less if Chesney is gay, but Lumpster's comment...priceless.

I have no problem with the cover or the title of Kenny's album--all I know is that I am excited to hear it. I thought Hemingway's Whiskey was a great album, and Kenny has said he went into this new album trying to build off the last one. I found this snippet from USA Today to be rather interesting:
I think Chesney realizes how 'big' "You And Tequila" was for his career, even though it didn't hit #1 on the airplay charts. I would argue that it was his 2nd biggest hit from Hemingway's Whiskey, behind only the Platinum multi-week #1 smash "Somewhere With You". Sure, "The Boys Of Fall", "Live A Little", and "Reality" each hit #1, but neither of them showed nearly the resounding impact that SWY and YAT had. I thought both singles were among Chesney's best in years, if not among the top titles he's ever released, and I really feel that both songs were a good change of pace as well, so if Welcome To The Fishbowl is going to build on what he accomplished with his last album, then I'm all for it.

From HITS: Lionel Richie’s Mercury Nashville bow, Tuskegee, a collection of his greatest hits performed with country stars such as Blake Shelton, Jason Aldean, Kenny Chesney, Rascal Flatts, Tim McGraw, Shania Twain, Willie Nelson and Jimmy Buffett, is the big surprise, with a robust first-week estimate in the 140-160k range. The album has even hit the #1 slot at iTunes over Madonna.Impressive! :O #1 selling country CD in Canada!

^ Great news! I hope that they keep churning out these nice little side albums, kinda like how Luke Bryan puts out a Spring Break EP every year.

I think I was able to find most of the writing credits for Kenny's album from ASCAP & BMI:
1. "Come Over" (Shane McAnally/Josh Osborne/Sam Hunt) 2. "Feel Like A Rockstar" [Duet with Tim McGraw] (Rodney Clawson/Chris Tompkins) 3. "Sing 'Em Good My Friend" (Tom Douglas/Jaren Johnston) 4. "Welcome To The Fishbowl" 5. "I'm A Small Town" (Keith Gattis) 6. "El Cerrito Place" (Keith Gattis) 7. "Makes Me Wonder" (Kenny Chesney/Wendell Mobley/Neil Thrasher) 8. "While He Still Knows Who I Am" (Tom Douglas/Dave Berg/Georgia Middleman) 9. "Time Flies" (Steve McEwan/Craig Wiseman) ?? 10. "To Get To You (55th & 3rd)" (Kenny Chesney/Skip Ewing) 11. "Always Gonna Be You" (Michael Reid) 12. "You And Tequila" (featuring Grace Potter) [Live]
Trying to nail down the title track yet. Everything else I'm pretty certain on, except maybe track #9, as there were a lot of titles with variations consisting of "time flies". Tracks 5-6 were both written solely by Keith Gattis, I believe.

06. "El Cerrito Place" This is a cover of the 2004 hit from Charlie Robison, I remember seeing this video for the song back around that time. It was off his album Good Times. www.youtube.com/watch?v=kGulN5J8e64

I loved that song. I remember watching this on the Top 20 Countdown with Lance Smith on CMT back in 05. Man that was when CMT was awesome. Now they suck.
Definately wanna hear Kenny's version, but it'll be hard to top Robison.

"Always Gonna Be You" is written by Michael Reid. Here's a link to a list of his previous album cuts via AllMusic. Chesney's remarks to USA Today clearly imply that he cowrote the title track so I'm thinking we don't have the credits nailed down on that one.

^That's what I was thinking as well, Dudley (in regards to the title track). Hard to believe there might be another song titled that. Anyway, I'll edit that last post.
Phil, I was going to post the exact same thing about seeing Charlie Robison's "El Cerrito Place" on CMT all the time a couple years ago! I loved that song and I actually think Kenny will do great with it. I checked out Charlie's discography and was surprised to find that "El Cerrito Place" never charted on Billboard. I know he was a 'Texas country artist' but I thought for sure the song would've at least made the lower part of the chart, given how much I saw the video on CMT years ago.
