I think this week will be Just A Kiss' 34th or 35th week on the chart, which is quite impressive.

Once it ends, then there will be crazy gains and losses for things to get back to normal for a week. Fun fun fun!

I'm not sure about "Friday", but I do remember it charting in the bottom half of the Hot 100 for a week.

The Edge of Glory is about to pass Marry the Night I will be quite frank and say that I believe that may be a good thing for Lady Gaga, although not necessarily in the moment but definitely in the long run. Perhaps Marry The Night was never destined to become a smash hit (although I hoped the contrary would happen) but the serious gains truly reflects how much of an impact The Edge of Glory has made throughout the year as a hit and the amount of longevity it has and will probably have over the years. While I am on the subject, I do feel it was a shame that is wasn't submitted for any Grammys because it would have been given some recognition in some way. And this is understandable to tell the truth. We are experiencing a time where the biggest pop divas are expected to smash through the chart with the fifth single off of their albums. I too expected this and wanted it but do realize it is difficult for an album like Born This Way to do given its controversial nature (which does greatly affect album performance for those rebuttals I have seen in the past) coupled with immense album sales, and thus can explain in short why such a single (which is not exactly the embodiment of a radio friendly song anyway) is not living up to the expectations of such a pop star. To be positive, I'm glad TEOG is getting immense updates like these. It was such a poignant offering from her and does feature the last recorded saxophone solo, ever, from Clarence Clemons which gives it special importance to me on a personal level.

I'm quite surprised about TEOG's updates. Yes it was a hit, but to be getting some of the biggest updates, bigger than Firework, E.T., and the like, really surprises me. In a good way :)
I agree about the Grammys, it totally should have been submitted. It is such a good song, especially lyrically, that I think nominations would have been very likely, with a good chance at winning some too.

"Marry the Night" isn't far off of the sound of "Edge of Glory" (once the beat kicks in)- perhaps that's why it's not taking off like some of her other singles. Not sure what was controversial about Born This Way, though- there may have been some rumblings, but nothing that approached the level of one of her main influences at her controversy peak.
EOG, though, may be my favorite track from Stefani Gaga. And it performed better at radio than any of the BTW singles, in the long haul.

Not sure what was controversial about Born This Way, though- there may have been some rumblings, but nothing that approached the level of one of her main influences at her controversy peak. I would say it was riddled with controversy and comparisons to her controversy peak are actually relatively irrelevant at this point. Judas, regardless of our personal views, incited deep opposition from deeply conservative people, which I have experienced many, many times on a first person basis from family, friends, and teachers (as well as Youtube comments). The Born This Way and You and I videos as well as Jo Calderone and various other performances have added to this. This doesn't go without saying that I disagree with her being a controversy, but the entire thing has almost become a platform for her act; she has been undeniably controversial although perhaps more stripped down than before this era on a live performance basis. On a personal note, I don't deny your take on MTN's weak performance but think it's only a minor factor at most. The two songs are highly distinguishable from each other.

It annoyed me a little how TEOG, one of the best songs (and the most radio-friendly song) on BTW, had a boring music video and wasn't submitted for any Grammys, so it's nice to see it having a bit of a resurgence.

I'm quite surprised about TEOG's updates. Yes it was a hit, but to be getting some of the biggest updates, bigger than Firework, E.T., and the like, really surprises me. In a good way :) The main reason it's gaining so much is because it's top 10 at AC radio, so it's had the past week to regain all that Christmas airplay it lost. Same situation as SLY, JAK, RITD, MLG, etc. Of course end-of-year countdowns help as well, but the resurgence on AC radio is why it's gaining more than Firework and E.T.

AC is so far behind, I figured Y&I would be on there, not TEOG by now.

It had fairly good iTunes sales. I'm pretty sure it even cracked the top 15/20 on itunes on Fridays.

SFTTR looks to be the greatest gainer- of the tracks listed, anyhow. :)
January 1 indeed looks to be the last day of major year-end-countdown activity.

^"Love on Top" got the best AI update today, as far as I can see...
But what a boring list of airplay gains/losses today, everything pretty static. I imagine tomorrow or the following day we will see the plummeting of old hits and rocketing of current hits?

^Yessir, that is correct- it would be "Love on Top," based on the listed one-day updates. Urban AC for ya- up, down, up, down... :)
SFTTR is the greatest gainer in spins (+375) in Medibase's Pop top 40.

RIHANNA- Talk That Talk f/Jay-Z= 6.180 (+0.448) Yes, Yes, Yes. I heard this song last night for the first time on radio. I simply don't get the hype. I'll be surprise if they do go with TTT as her next single cause it doesn't sound like hit, at all, to me.

What if I'm wrong... Doesn't matter. It just seems to me that Rihanna is a pop act now and urban don't support her they way they did with Rude Boy and WMN.
