Bobbi Humphrey was one of the first female jazz instrumentalists to be signed to a major label when she became the first female signed to Blue Note in the early 70s. She went on to record with jazz legends like Duke Ellington and played flute on Stevie Wonder's "Another Star".
This song doesn't just stand out among 70s jazz fusion because it's by a female instrumentalist, but it holds it's own against all the other popular fusion tracks of the time. One of my favorite fusion tracks.
