Very interesting chart this week, I must say. Many big falls and large chart jumps. The Top Five, however, remains stationary. That means that Jeremy Camp still rules the roost for week number five. Can he make it six? Possibly, if By The Tree, Bethany Dillon or Chris Tomlin don't have what it takes to knock him off next week.
When Jon was going into "Blessed Be Your Name", he mentioned how, for six weeks in a row, Tree63 had two songs on the chart and this week they only had one. I was thinking that their old one had finally bitten the dust. But instead, their new one drops out. I couldn't believe it, since that song is relatively new and is very Christian radio friendly. Maybe not. Or maybe it just had a slight relapse, like a few songs have had this year.
One of those songs was Telecast's "Beauty Of Simplicity", which continues its erratic chart run. It fell back to number 18 last week but this week, is moving back up, to number 14. I doubt that it'll hit the Top Ten, since it has pretty much run its course on the charts. It'll probably bounce around the lower half of the chart for the next few weeks and then drop out.
There are three new entries in the Top Ten and they all make enormous moves. At number nine is "Still The Cross" which makes a seven-notch jump up. Any other week, that would be the biggest mover, but it's actually the third biggest. The second biggest belongs to Phillips Craig & Dean. The trio practically repeats their 17-6 jump they took back in March with their last hit "Here I Am To Worship". Their new song, "You Are God Alone" jumps from 17-7, looking like they could claim the number one position. Have they ever been there before?
The biggest mover is "Presence" by the Newsboys. After dog-paddling near the brink of the chart for the past three weeks, they shoot ahead eleven spots to number 8. These songs could change the static Top Ten in the near future.
The Swift is sure getting jerked around on the chart! Last week, they made the biggest move (13-8) with "Alive In Love" and now, they take one of the biggest drops, from 8-15. Will it move up next week?
Another song that's bouncing around on the chart is "As I Lift You Up" by Jeff Deyo. About three months ago, the song debuted at #13, then fell down and it's been making like a yo-yo pretty much its whole chart run. It drops to number 19 this week and could be history next week.
Point Of Grace is back with a new album called "I Choose You" and the title track is Jon's Future Favorite this week. With the amazing track record that the band has, this song could be another number one song.
