I'm surprised at how high BEP are considering they only had one really big single this year. I'd kind of say the same for Lady A as well, but wasn't JAK really big on AC?

Many of the top 10 artists are benefitting greatly from recurrent play as well as crossover appeal. Also realize that this list is based on spins, not audience. Many songs that are big at AC will rack up lots of spins, but they aren't getting the same kind of audience that the biggest pop hits do. I imagine BEP is so high due to not only their one really big single this year, but also recurrent play that IGF and BBM get, as well as all of their other singles. Lady Antebellum gets tons of radio play from country - they've had two number 1 country hits this year, plus I imagine they get lots of recurrent play from their first two albums. And they are also huge on AC and Hot AC radio, and they get some support from pop. And then look at Adele. Her current singles smashed harder than anyone this year (except for KP with her 3 number 1's), but she's not too far ahead of Taylor Swift, BEP, and Lady A, and I imagine a lot of it is just because she doesn't have big recurrent hits. I guess the singles from her first album get some play, but probably nothing like Taylor's "Love Story" and "YBWM," the BEP's "IGF" and "BBP," and Lady A.'s "Need You Now."

Wow at 7 female singers and 2 groups with a female who sometimes has lead vocals! Pink - amazing! I'm really hoping that the 2012 disc gives her first #1 album, BUT that it has the type of staying power of FH.
