A very fresh an updated chart gives us a very close chart at the top. Eli Young Band’s follow up to their first number one becomes their first number one on PMB as Even If It Breaks Your Heart reaches 25 votes to defeat Jake Owen’s follow up to his first number one song by just one vote. Miranda is the highest ranking female this week after two weeks of female leadership at the top. The rest of the top 5 is superstar Keith Urban and new artist Brantley Gilbert. Martina McBride’s two week number 1, I’m Gonna Love You Through It, drops to number 6. Lee Brice’s first hit since Love Like Crazy is at number seven. Eden’s Edge reenters our chart as it gets close to recurrent status on Billboard. Sara Evans has her third week in the top ten and our Hot Shot Debut honors this week go to the debut single from Andy Gibson. The last five are filled with debuts as Kenny Chesney is the only artist that made the chart last week. Bonafide superstar with one of his last singles for Curb Records comes in with three lovely ladies trying to break through: Sunny Sweeney, Lauren Alania, and Jana Kramer. Although Jana Kramer was unable to claim the Hot Shot Debut honors, she is the Greatest Gainer on the top 15 gaining almost ten votes since last week.

After four consistent weeks in the top tier of the PMB County Update, Miranda Lambert finally takes that big leap with Over You, her latest single off of the Four the Record album. Kinda shocking to see Jana Kramer as the greatest gainer for the second straight week, but obviously she has struck a chord with our voters, whose numbers are up this week. Her chart progression has gone from 0 to 5 to 12 to 26 votes. Very quick rise for the actor turned singer. The next two tell you to drink for various reasons; Sunny Sweeney maybe drinking because of sadness though here shortly as she is probably going recurrent this week; however, Blake Shelton does not have that issue. His drinking song is flying up the Billboard chart. On the strength of carryover voting, Brantley Gilbert comes in at number 5. Before tallying the carryovers, he had just three votes. The second five starts with the apparent place that songs go after they become number one singles. Martina finshed sixth last week after her run at the top, and now the Eli Young Band does the same thing. I am gonna call the 7 through 10 ranked songs the “Yous” as they all feature the word you in the title. Worth mentioning that Sara Evans is one of three songs that has been in the top ten each week so far (Brantley and Miranda are the other two.), however, she has yet to make it to the top five. (Her chart run is 6-6-9-10.) The final five starts with Kenny Chesney, who has been on the chart for three weeks, but has been unable to gain much traction as he sits outside the top ten for a third week. Last week’s debuts Andy Gibson, Lauren Alania, and Tim McGraw were unable to sustain for a second week on the chart. That leaves openings for three new songs. Taking the hot shot debut is a song who has been bubbling right under the top 15 for two weeks now, Home by Dierks Bentley. After sitting at eleven votes for the past two weeks, Bentley got one more voter convinced, got three more votes, and was finally able to chart getting the Hot Shot Debut position at #12. Two former American Music Awards nominees for Best New Artist, Gloriana and Thompson Square, both chart this with their critically loved new singles. We will see if radio is as receptive to them as the critics are. Finishing at #15 an taking a hard tumble was our former number 1, I’m Gonna Love You Though It. Without some voter support, Martina is probably going to leave us next week. Gaining momentum in the bubbling under portion of the chart is Montgomery Gentry, The Band Perry, Clay Walker, and Canaan Smith.
