Britney was big on pop (on the billboard hot 100 not that much, i was very surprised some of her pop hits were barely top 20) But in 2001 she started the i'm slave for you era, and radio had a bad reaction to her hits. I think it's quite natural, teen stars rarely transition to adult singers smoothly. Britney was actually boycotted against by many radio stations during the Britney era. Very little of it actually had to do with her new adult image. You'll need to ask a true Britney stan for the full story, though. I'm not sure of what the big deal was, but it had something to do with her tour and pulling out a sponsor, and a lot of crazy behind the scenes stuff. |

Clear Channel stations boycotted her songs because she decided to forgo touring with Clear Channel for the "Dream Within a Dream Tour" in 2001. |

I'm not sure but I think it had something to do with wanting more "genuine" pop girls like P!nk and Avril, who were being branded as the "anti-Britney"'s at the time.

Well I suppose lol. Although I wouldnt consider that stuff dated like some of the late 90s stuff, it was very much appropriate for 2001 pop style. I guess its just the way eras and trends work.

I'm not sure but I think it had something to do with wanting more "genuine" pop girls like P!nk and Avril, who were being branded as the "anti-Britney"'s at the time. Ah, yes. The anti-Britney movement. I miss those days. Don't forget about Michelle and Vanessa! They were a huge deal back in the early '00s. I wonder why they vanished so quickly. Also, P!nk was originally from the "Britney" camp. I think she only switched over with Misundaztood. |

Wow, this is a VERY bad day for Ed. UF regained its bullet (which is just unbelievable) and outgained TOL, and Tay-Tay pounced up 500 spins. With Taylor moving the way she is, it's down to this last week for Ed to take the summit, and a few days like today and he'll be officially blocked on Sunday for good. =X

I don't want to say, well yes, i want it. I told you so.
It was not that clear, it was not that easy. I want Ed to be number one, the song deserve it, he deserve it, and i'm more than tired of UF (i know it's a great song and Bruno is a great singer, but i never liked funk music and UF is everywhere), but TOL was giving signals of peaking and UF was not dropping like a stone.
I still think Ed will get it, but it will be nerve wracking. And at this rate, Style could be there very soon
