Loving the negative updates. Spins are just way too high nowadays. I agree, but there were general bad updates not only songs on the top of the chart. Some songs that were receiving really good updates in recent days have a bad one yesterday |

The only way Weeknd doesn't hit #1 is if Somebody swells enough to block him til WTM gets there, or a newly-resurgent Derulo or Flo Rida. And I think it's likely to block Somebody anyway. |

It looks like Usher will stay in the top 40 for one more week. Odd chart run to see a song go 27-40-40, or even possibly 27-40-39.

So Night Changes has gone recurrent on the Hot 100 before going recurrent on pop. This must be a rare occurrence. When was the last time this happened? Technically, "Demons" by Imagine Dragons, though it came back from recurrency on the Hot 100 because it took off on pop. "Sail" did the same thing. |

Happy to see Ellie score her second #1. "Uptown Funk!" just doesn't seem to want to die. This week, it slips to #6 after 14 weeks in the top 5. Pretty impressive. If I understand Mediabase's rules, correctly, songs on the chart for over 20 weeks will be kicked off in their SECOND consecutive week without a bullet. This would be the FIRST for "Riptide" (it regained it's bullet last week), so it should be safe until next week. That means only "Night Changes" will be going recurrent, pulling R5 into the top 40. "I Don't Mind" and "Heartbeat Song" will, both, be purged. |

Demons had two chart runs? On the Hot 100. It came and went on Alternative, then returned when it was pushed to Pop. It only had one run on the Mediabase Pop chart. |

Given the updates for Riptide, it looks like it will surely go recurrent next week. Can't imagine it regaining its bullet this coming week but I guess anything is possible lol so who knows

I'd be kind of mixed about "Riptide" going tonight. On the one hand, it'd mean the song goes when it's clearly in decline versus when it was still unclear last week. On the other hand, with "Night Changes" also going, it'd mean Usher gets sucked back to #40, and I can't say I'd like seeing that go 27-40-40 while "Heartbeat Song" goes right past him.  Plus, it'd add a bit of subjectivity to their own rules, since, as stated above, the rule is posting two consecutive weeks of spin loss. |

Yeah I agree it's pretty obvious that Riptide is done so it would make no sense to keep it here (especially since they weeded out Happy a week early...where's the logic in that?)
Anyway, if only Ed didn't bleed so hard today we would've had an official published update with the entire top ten over 10k spins :( too bad
