SYA gonna pass SUAD tomorrow :'( :'( :'( I swear if that thing ends up blocking my fave... I think it's an advantage for SUAD to be passed so soon. I think their probabilities of being number one will be higher than if they were able to hold SYA till they were in the top 5. SYA is going to be the next number one after Earned it, but i doubt it will be there more than four or five weeks. The point is though that unfortunately those four or five weeks will probably be sufficient to block SUAD... |

It is more of an advantage for SUAD to get passed now and not near the top spot than to get passed when it is closer. |

You pretty much just answered your question. Pop radio is evolving. It's not a good evolution, but it's clear that it has been heading this direction for a few months now. It's starting to look more and more like the country format every week, just with less payola "let's all share the number one spot" schemes. I hope this phase doesn't last long. |

Not as cool but I can only think of songs that went 5-1 like "Blurred Lines" and "Roar". I feel like that's not as rare.
Not really in the same realm but I remember "Dark Horse" went 12-5 and of course "Born This Way" 19-6.

Nice update for SUAD! hopefully SYA will FINALLY slow the f**k down/fall soon so SUAD will have an opportunity to be #1! You want SYA to keep its massive bullet until it gets to the summit. Unless it pulls a UF, a faster rise will mean a sooner fall, and SUAD is looking good for several weeks at #2 at least, so they can definitely snatch its wig on the descent. |

Right now the gap between 10 (well shake it off before the absurd purge) and 11 is huge in the AC chart. And some of the songs like Stay with me went recurrent because it was on the chart forever and ever and fall under 5, but it was very far from number 10.
Lay me down failed to make top 10 in any format, which is curious for a top 10 hot 100 song
