I think on this season of Idol, they need to have a Carrie-themed week where Carrie is the guest mentor and the contestants need to sing her songs. It is not going to happen as Carrie has previously mentioned that she doesn't think that she has enough experience for this. There was a radio interview a while back, where they asked her if she'd ever be a judge on Idol. Carrie said "Judge no, mentor maybe". So I think she would definitely be open to being a guest mentor for one episode.

So this is the 5th time Carrie performs at the Grammy's? Quite an honor, really. They love her.

Carrie will be performing AND presenting at the Grammy's! She already slaying with promo and the era hasn't started yet. I love it. @jimmy Carter:Grammy's have added Carrie Underwood as a presenter…There will be an Etta James tribute with Bonnie Raitt

It was a weekend for football and music, as Steven Tyler and Carrie Underwood scored the highest-rated episode of CMT Crossroads in seven years.
More than 3.1 million total viewers* tuned in to CMT for weekend airings of “CMT Crossroads: Steven Tyler & Carrie Underwood From the Pepsi Super Bowl Fan Jam,” which premiered Saturday, February 4 from Super Bowl XLVI in Indianapolis. The premiere garnered 1.9 million total viewers, marking the highest-rated CMT Crossroads episode since the 2005 pairing of Lionel Richie and Kenny Rogers, according to Nielsen Media Research. Also a hit on social media, #CMTcrossroads peaked in the #3 spot on Twitter for U.S. trending topics.
The show will be retelecast on CMT Saturday, February 11 at 10:00 a.m. and again Sunday, February 12 at 10:00 a.m, ET/PT.
Tyler and Underwood took the stage for a rocking hour of hits, including “Sweet Emotion,” “Love in an Elevator,” “Before He Cheats,” “Cryin’,” a spectacular mash-up of Underwood’s “Just A Dream” and Aerosmith’s “Dream On,” a special performance of Aerosmith’s “Walk This Way” and Underwood’s smash “Undo It,” and the Steppenwolf classic “Born To Be Wild.”
*Nielsen Media Research (cume P 2+ / 1 minute qualifier), includes 3 airings. Carrie will be performing AND presenting at the Grammy's! Nah. She's performing, only. Jimmy doesn't know what he's talking about.

I have a great feeling that Carrie will win because she never left empty handed.

I have a great feeling that Carrie will win because she never left empty handed. She lost last year. Miranda Lambert's The House That Built Me beat Carrie's Temporary Home.

True, but Carrie didn't attend last year's Grammys. Every year she's attended she's won. (I don't necessarily think that means she'll win this year, though.)

I'd be happy if Carrie won this year, however I'm terrified that it would send the message that "Mama's Song" is actually good. But a Grammy is a Grammy, so whatever.

I would think a nomination in itself makes "Mama's Song" good. That, or it's a reflection of how much the Grammys love Carrie. Regardless, I never wanted it as a single, but I like the song. While it was probably my last choice for a Grammy-worthy song from Carrie, I still think the song could win. Obviously people liked the song enough to nominate it over countless others. If it can garner enough votes to rank among the top 5, I don't see why it can't be #1. Especially since no one ever though it'd be in the top 5 to start with. *fingers crossed*

This Grammy award is not for song of the year, though. It's a performance award. And I think vocally and emotionally, it's one of Carrie's strongest studio performances ever.

I've said all along that it's probably her best vocal on the album outside of "Someday". The song has a lot of things going for it, like, I think it produced her best music video. I like everything about it other than the lyrics.

Some nice mentions about Tony & Carrie's forthcoming Grammy performance: The Washington PostShe's one of the best singers in the business. And Bennett is always at his twinkliest when performing with the young ladies. Entertainment WeeklyTheir collaboration on Bennett’s album is great, and Underwood has a way of elevating herself for big moments. This could also be the place where the Grammys slip in an Amy Winehouse tribute. I think Mark Bright gave that one away when he posted the picture of the three of them in the studio on Facebook. The guy in the photo you're referring to is songwriter Cary Barlowe, not Tedder.

Good Girl has all the buzz to become a smash hit.
Carrie didn't attend when she lost to Miranda.

The New Release Schedule now has an opening week estimate of 300k for Carrie Underwood. Still a May 1 release date.... Wow, that's pretty amazing since the new single hasn't even been released yet! I guess they have people that work all the statistics to find the best possible release date plus she's a huge star so it does make sense. Anyhoo, I'm, really looking forward to this weekend now that Carrie will be singing w/Tony. I hope she does something for the Clive Davis party even though we prob won't get it hear it. I'm still hoping for the Harry Connick JR. duet to pop up sometime! He's one of my all-time favs!

The singer has a nice voice but I much prefer the energy of the original.

Front row? That could mean something? It's nice to think that way... But these are the Grammys, they wouldn't base the seating off who has to get up for the awards. And if they do, it would be purely based off of speculation.

Front row? That could mean something? Doubt it. We don't even know if the Country Vocal Performance Award will be presented in the live telecast or in the pre-telecast. My bet is that they'll do it on the live show since they've condensed all vocal categories (so I'd bet on Country, R&B, and Pop Vocal Performance Awards all getting aired live), but we don't know for sure. Plus, I don't think that the seating arrangement means anything since the winners are sealed up tight in envelopes.
