Variables are different this time around but Carrie's star power has only gotten bigger so I'm pretty confident that her first week sales will be in the vicinity of 300+ range. And I'm not counting out the 500T..after all this CU we're talking about.

Anyone else notice the sound of today's crossroads repeat? The vocals are clear and strong on my 5.1 system now. They were generally hidden behind the music on the original broadcast. Carrie and steven sound amazing now. If you had a similar problem, I suggest you record this new version.

This has me really hoping for a DVD now...

Whitney Houston has died was Carrie a fan of hers? Completely relevant.. I'm sure Carrie was a fan in some degree. Whitney was a legend and hands down one of the greatest vocalists of our generation.

Carrie has confirmed that the Good Girl lyrics are indeed fake....
How could anyone not be a fan of Whitney's, especially when they are a singer? :(

@ny4carrie:Carrie Underwood once told us on the fanclub that she did get to meet Whitney Houston. She was awestruck.

Carrie just posted at the OFC that she was set to attend but didn't find it appropriate after Whitney's death.

I won't judge those who were there, but the fact that Carrie felt it wasn't appropriate and did what she thought was right says so many things about her. You go Carrie...

I'm not sure I agree 100% but I respect Carrie 150%... she indeed is a class act and had the highest of all intentions with that, so I just hope she doesn't receive any backlash from others, specially from those who attended, who might misinterpret what she meant by that!!
Then again, Alicia Keys and Pitbull (so far the ones I know) didn't attend Clive's party for the same reason...
EDIT
several tweets are saying Carrie attended Brad Paisley's concert last night and made a surprise performance with him of Remind Me...

Haha, its the hologram Carrie that people think is actually Carrie. :) I think it was the right decision for Carrie not to attend the party. Personnally, I think the whole thing should've been cancelled, especially since Whitney died in the same place. Just seems a little morbid to me.....

Carrie's decision was very respectful.
It'd be one thing if her death was more than hours before the party, and in a different location. However, she died just hours before in the same building... I'm sure it just didn't seem appropriate at all to go.
But the saying goes, " the show must go on!" For Clive not to cancel after losing his "baby", he must really take that to heart.

Carrie's decision was that it felt inappropriate to her to attend Clive's party given the news about Whitney, others will make their own decision...given that the body was still in the room while Clive's gettogether was going on makes it sound somewhat macabre....Like Carrie I would have decided to not attend under the circumstances...the whole 'show must go on' thing has to be tempered by the situation and of course the individuals' involved. There's no right or wrong here it's a matter of what is right for you.

Clive's party is a big event. People were excited, preparing to attend. A shocking, tragic, heartbreaking death happens hours before "party time". Just as anytime someone experiences a death of someone who is close to them personally, or someone who is loved and respected professionally, there is no right or wrong way to react. You just have to go with your gut. Do what feels right to you.

Off topic, but I found this interesting: In Carrie's blog post today, she wrote that we're in single digits until we hear "Good Girl." Either it was a weird typo, or they moved the release date up (which I'm assuming is what she's going by). Am I missing something?

Clive's party is a big event. People were excited, preparing to attend. A shocking, tragic, heartbreaking death happens hours before "party time". Just as anytime someone experiences a death of someone who is close to them personally, or someone who is loved and respected professionally, there is no right or wrong way to react. You just have to go with your gut. Do what feels right to you. Perfect stated. As with any other belief system, we are raised with and retain certain values. For anyone to criticize Carrie for not attending Clive's pre-Grammy party would be to inappropriately impose his/her belief system onto Carrie (or anyone else for that matter). To me, this is no different than in politics when voters take issue with a candidate, not for his/her religion, but for the candidate's pushing personal beliefs onto the general public, who may or may not agree with those beliefs. Thus, I fully support Carrie for deciding for herself what is appropriate and what felt right for her at the time. On a much lighter note, it seems that this year's Grammy telecast will be performance-heavy with only 8 or so aired awards. Thus, I am assuming that Carrie' nomination for 'Mama's Song' in the Best Solo Country Performance will be part of the pre-Grammy telecast. This can be streamed live starting 1pm PST at www.grammy.com/live for those who are interested.

I rarely post in this thread, but I just want to say I really, really respect Carrie for deciding not to attend the Clive pre Grammy party. I know the show must go mantra, but I too thought holding this event was not the right thing to do under the circumstances and the fact that her body still hadn't been removed from that hotel. :'(
On a happy note, not long now for her first single.

Oddly, Carrie's blog from this morning has disappeared. Has she ever deleted a blog post before?

Duets II just won Traditional Pop Album! Does she get an award for it, though? It's listed as Various Artists... I always thought that's how it worked if that was the case.

Taylor's acceptance speech was hilarious! I love "Mean" a whole lot so I'm not upset Carrie didn't win. I'm sure Carrie will win all the awards next year
