There are some.....Interesting conversations on Carrie fans about the things Carrie said about gay marriage. I know there won't be that much of a backlash by society as a whole, but this has stirred up things a bit for people with different opinions. I just don't see the controversy in it... She is talking about LOVE. Though I guess I don't follow politics so I don't know the controversy. I love that Carrie spoke about loving all people. That is what the world needs to realize. She is just perfect! Why would people be upset with her for having a different opinion then they do? That seems pretty closed-minded.

So pleasantly surprised at Carrie for not beating around the bush and answering that question so bravely and honestly. Good for her. She's an awesome person.
I would like a poster of Carrie in that American flag tank top, btw.

I just heard about her interview and this really made me gain some respect for her! Awesome that she's not afraid go speak out. It's sad that some people might turn their back on her music because of it.

I don't think she will get much backlash for this. She is well loved in the US and the country music world. I'm not even sure how much coverage it will get here. We will have to wait and see. Having said that, you never know in America. The conservatives raked the President over the coals for finally speaking out, Some Million Moms Group has called for a ban on J. C. Pennys on Father's Day Shopping due to a gay partner advertisement, and of course, Lambert is regularly diminished and targeted as a gay man. So it depends on their moods. Glad she spoke out though. Hopefully it will open some close minds and move us forward. I am anxious to see if she says the same thing in the US or backtracks if it becomes an issue her. I hope not. I have gained respect for her.

She's smart enough to know that her words aren't going to be confined to the UK. And, I don't even think she left any room for backtracking. This wasn't just some lukewarm 'love everybody' statement. She tackled the issue head on, made her stance very clear. I'm confident that she'll stand by her words. Here's another bit from the interview that I haven't seen posted in here: In the interview, she condemned "people who use the Bible for hate", adding: "That's not how I would want myself as a Christian to be represented."

Love Carrie's gay comments. Not only is it awesome that she supports gay rights, it's also awesome that she voices it :) So much respect for her(already loved her, but that tips the scales).
Oh and she looks flawless in her American Tank and shorts...can that bitch get anymore flawless? #NotJealous....:(

I seriously love Carrie for her comments on marriage. I've been a huge fan from the Idol days, went to the first FC party, many concerts, etc. I've struggled with homosexuality for a long time now, and I just came out to my friends this week. As a person of deep faith like Carrie, I almost feel like it's a sign from God that it actually is okay that I, and others like me, are the way we are. This is just so reassuring. I know I don't need Carrie Underwood to be okay with me as a gay man, but the timing is just crazy for me. It just feels right, basically. Good for Carrie.

^ Stories like that are exactly why I'm so glad Carrie was brave enough to speak up about it. Bravo. That woman really does have a heart of gold. If more people followed in her footsteps, the world would be in much better shape.

Carrie gained even more respect from me for her gay comments! It's sad to see that some of her fans turn their back on her because of that! If saying what she believes in the way that she did makes anyone abandon being a fan of hers, imo, they were never a true fan in the first place. IMO, we tend to follow people whose music we like, character we like, and personality we like. If the artist we follow says one particular thing that maybe you don't agree with leads you to conclude that you cannot support that artist anymore, then your world is entirely too closed off. Imagine, "I just love that Carrie Underwood, great artist, great vocalist, great songwriter, supports animal care, supports the Red Cross, supports the USO,is very spiritual, is married to a spiritual man, loves her church, loves her God, but wait, she supports Gay marriage, over and done, I hate her". If you agree with that statement, you have serious problems. I think this will blow away like the words in her song.

The news just hit major gay blogs and country music websites. The comments on the latter, as you can imagine, are not pretty.

I'm calling it: Carrie's best video yet, based on a 30-second teaser. Holy crap.
Looks incredible.

Looks intense and fantastic...though I always imagined the protagonist of the song to be much younger, and sort of wish she had hired an actor to play that role. We'll see how the video all comes together, though--visually it looks spot on.

That video looks incredible. And I much prefer when artists play the lead in their music videos, it makes them more interesting to me.

The Lyrics in the song have always seemed to me that it would have to be a older girl to have the thoughts of revenge and knowingly leaving him on the couch to die.

I agree I don't see anyone under the age of 16 doing that but I always pictured an 18-20 year old doing it when I hear the song. Plus Carrie looks just fine in the roll and does not seem out of place in the video.
