I'm really excited for this video. It looks like it'll be like a darker version of Sara Evans' iconic "Born to Fly" video, with her talking about the Wizard of Oz references. I can't wait to see what the finished product looks like!

I was there at the Melbourne concert last night. It's my first time ever seeing Carrie live, and what an INCREDIBLE experience! :'( The 1.5 hours or so seriously FLEW BY.

As many of you would know by now, the setlist is the same as the UK concert, except for the INXS cover. I was grateful for the same setlist simply because I know exactly when to get my camera ready for recording, especially for the surprise cover!
(my camera isn't great quality though, sadly)

I won't go through it song by song, but here are some of the concert highlights for me:


1. I forgot how amazing her vocals are on Temporary Home. When the music slowed down for the last verse and it was just her voice... the clarity, phrasing, emotions etc totally gave me chills. Wish I had a video of this!

2. Carrie totally commanded the stage like a superstar she is, yet she's charming and adorable with her dorky moments/jokes.

There's a part (right before the acoustic set I think) where she said something like this "I wanted to say someone didn't do their job of bringing the mic stand to me...... but then I realized that someone is ME!".... audience laughed while she proceeded to run adorably to the back of the stage to grab the stand. "FAIL! I have two jobs tonight... sing and bring mic stand. I'm now one for two... or at least I hope so!" <3

Earlier on, she also commented something like "I promise to have more awkward talk later on" lol

3. LOVED the crowd sing-along to BHC! You did good, Melbourne fans!

4. It was pretty much a sitting crowd at the ground level (not sure about upper level), but HGTA brought them to their feet. I finally got to hear this live! :'(

5. Undo It, Nobody Ever Told You, One Way Ticket work really really well live. They give off great energy and feel-good vibe. I could really see the crowd getting into them.

6. The setlist is just amazing! Hit after hit after hit! My husband, who was there with me and generally can't stand country music or knows hardly anything about Carrie, commented about the impressive setlist as well. I caught him smiling at some of her jokes and tapping his hand to some of the songs too.

7. Carrie looks HOT! I was happy she was showing off her legs, unlike in London.

8. It was a very diverse crowd from what I can see: moms/daughters, family, girls night out, couples, young men, teenagers etc. Throughout the night, I looked around and I could see MANY MANY people singing along to most of the songs. Feels so good to be surrounded by fellow Carrie fans!

9. I know that there were still tickets available before the concert, so I'm not sure what the attendance were. But from what I can see from the ground level, it was completely and totally packed.

10. I would LOVE to have a full acoustic tour from Carrie one day. Seriously, I just want to hear that mind-blowingly amazing voice and nothing else!


ETA: The opening act, Damien Leith (ex-Aussie Idol), was good. He covered Roy Orbison's Crying as part of his set.

To summarize, the concert was a big success and I am a SUPER HAPPY FAN!

To all the fans going to Brisbane, Tamworth and Sydney concerts, prepare to be blown away!

^^ Thanks for your detailed review. I am so happy for you that you received the opportunity to experience her live, because as so many have said about her, the youtube videos do not do her live voice justice, especially her emoting ability and power.

I have heard from a few people, that security was tight down below and asked them to remain sitting.. I understand it from a insurance policy for the building but dang no way I could sit through a concert, as I would want to stand up and enjoy myself

Some people at the front few rows did get away with standing through many songs though. Guess the security isn't that consistent? lol

And I just looked through the BHC video that this uploader put up on youtube. Her description says someone in front of her was caught for filming video. Funnily, I sat right next to the aisle and was taking videos of many songs throughout the night, yet nobody said anything to me. LOL

Yes it is! I was amazed, the concept of it isn't too advanced, but to be able to do that from an Iphone is extremely impressive...

I hope one of these days I try it and the actual video plays!
