^^ Is that a record for the highest position for 'Blown Away' (the single) ? I can't wait until it hits Hot AC/AC- it will explode on those radio charts and will keep it's sales afloat through the holiday season. 3 million by years' end is a real possibility, IMO. No it peaked at #11 twice. First when after Carrie performed it on Idol. Second after the Today show (2/3 weeks ago). Hopefully this time, BA can crack to top 10 and get the real exposure. How long will the itunes sale last?

If Carrie were to sing most of her previous hits she'd sing approximately 13 songs, give or take a few knowing she'll leave some out. I think that leaves plenty of room for most of the "Blown Away' album. Last tour, Carrie's setlist contained upwards of 20 songs, I don't see this time around being any different.

When I went to the PO tour she didn't sing DFTRM and she did sing Some Hearts and I Know You Won't. I could see her eliminating Some Hearts but keeping I Know You Won't. I can see her not performing MS and maybe ITYS as well and again not performing DFTRM.
I can't wait for her first concert date so someone can post a setlist!

I was just thinking about this yesterday after I heard JTTW on the radio. Maybe she'll go the medley route before actually dropping a lot of her hits completely.

How long will the itunes sale last? The iTunes sale is through Sept 5th. With BA being the #1 album on iTunes on 9/1, that is probably enough to give Carrie the #1 country album for this past week. Carrie should beat Zac Brown Band by 5k-10k for the #1 country album spot. If the BA album continues to sell this well, it stands a very good shot at being in the top 5 (maybe top 3) for this week's album chart as there are very few albums dropping this week.

#5 on the all-genre album chart (even in the midst of all of the new releases, too! Great hold) #1 on the Country album chart The single is still #13 on the all-genre chart and #3 on the Country chart. Bought a fourth copy of the album. On sale, $5.70 to complete the album? Eh, why not.

Very impressive sales this week! I think this sale will help keep overall sales fairly "up" for the time being. With Blown Away back in the 'spotlight' on iTunes, and the single rising fast, I think sales could stay upwards of 18-20k for many consecutive weeks. 800,000 will come up very soon, and then there will only be 200,000 left to attain through the holidays, which seems very plausible. By the new year's arrival, I'm confident in saying Blown Away will have sold at, or over 1,000,000 copies.
Although I must say, I was quite disappointed today to find that my local Best Buy had sold out of Blown Away copies. Well, the good news is that it's selling. Bad news, I couldn't buy another one. :'(

Yeah, BA will be platinum by year's end, which is really awesome. Between the tour, the CMAs, and the holidays, that alone should easily push it towards the million mark. Seeing as how well the title track is doing in sales and on radio, that will also help push albums.
Remember that certifications are measured by shipments of albums, not by sales. Once she passes about 850k, I'd expect a Platinum certification to come pretty quickly.

Blown Away was released 5 month ago, is it even eligilble? If it was, it's almost at the platinum level and it wasn't nominated? It will probably end up with 4 or even 5 number ones and it's not nominated? Wow. I guess in the CMA's eyes, Carrie is the perfect host, but not the perfect artist.
Kelly Clarkson got a nomination? WTF

Blown Away was definitely eligible. The eligibility period ended June 30th, and the album was released May 1st. During the eligibility period, the album was #1 on the Billboard all-genre chart for two weeks, #1 on the Billboard country chart for 5 weeks, sold over 600,000 copies, and was arguably her best reviewed album yet.

Is "Blown Away" eligible next year too? Or does it only go by release date? Not that it matters because it seems as if Carrie's CMA days are over... Still, I'm just curious to know.
The only way Carrie will be nominated for anything by the CMA other than FV is if she achieves success near, or equal to the SH era. Since then, her CMA nominations have lacked... It seems not even critical acclaim alone is enough to grant Carrie nominations in none other than Female Vocalist. Even though she's had both critical acclaim and success this era. I just don't get it, but it's kind of sad. I look forward to these nominations year after year, and every time I am severely disappointed...
For years I've had hope Carrie would win Female Vocalist again, but I'm starting to lose hope in even that... I just don't think the CMAs are over Miranda, her nominations tell me that she still has the edge over Carrie, who only has one.

Blown Away definitely could be eligible next year, depending on how it does in sales during next year's eligibility period (which I'm assuming is July 1, 2012 - June 30, 2013).
I, too, am starting to lose all hope that Carrie will ever win FVOTY again.

I honestly want this album to outsell Play On to stop her declining sales pattern. Hopefully, Blown Away (Single) crosses over to help sell more albums.

The CMA's will never stop snubbing Carrie. She deserved that AOTY nomination. And I love Kelly to DEATH but I am honestly puzzled as to why she was nominated for this particular show (waiting for the hateful posts to come in 3...2...1).

And more to the point; it should still be eligible next year since most of its singles will be during the current eligibility year.

EDIT : I'm betting my money that Carrie won't win FV. They want Carrie to host just because they know she's really good at hosting and she would bring huge ratings.

I really doubt that Blown Away will cross over. Without Arista NY, there really isn't a way for it to make considerable progress unless the song really catches on by itself with the general public. It will also be hard to catch Play On in sales since Blown Away was not released in the last quarter.

At least the biggest snubbed album, BLOWN AWAY, is back to #1 country album this week and will likely stay at the top next week.
IN YOUR FACE, CMA :)

This is the first time RCA has been attached to a Carrie single, so there's been speculation that Carrie may have struck up a new deal with RCA to promote to other formats.

It was released 1 month before the eligible time ended. correct me if i'm wrong. But someone posted the wording of the rule, and it also mentions something about a majority of the album reaching prominence (something to that effect). Considering only 1 single from the CD was released in the eligibility year, I could see the album actually being eligible next year instead as more of its material will get promotion during this eligibility period than the one that just ended.
