Here is a little bit of tour info Carrie has the cover story for the new Country Weekly, with an interview about her Blown Away tour that starts this Friday in Manchester, NH. Here's a summary (a couple set list spoilers included):
* Carrie says they tried to arrange the new tour setlist to tell a story. * Carrie says they've worked hard on the music side and they've also worked hard on the visual side to set moods for the songs. Weather will be a central part of the visuals for obvious reasons (Blown Away, but Carrie also mentions how Hunter Hayes's first hit was Storm Warning). * Carrie says they use moving screens to set the environment for each song. * Carrie's not a big catwalk fan because she likes reaching out to people, they like reaching out to her, and she's scared she'll fall. * Like the flying pickup truck on the Play On tour, Carrie will be doing something to get to the back of the arena and play there. She doesn't want to give away what that is yet. * They had to move production rehearsals from a rehearsal hall in Nashville's Bridgestone Arena to Atlanta because the stage was too big for the rehearsal all at the Bridgestone. * Carrie says she'll definitely bring Hunter Hayes out during her set but hadn't discussed it with him when she did the CW interview. She's excited about having him on her tour and admires the fact that he can play anything he wants. * There will be a virtual duet with Brad Paisley on Remind Me. * Carrie talks about how on her previous tour, she would have Randy Travis on a screen singing I Told You So with her, and sometimes because of venue specs the screen would be short, making Randy Travis look weird. So the onscreen Randy Travis is being retired for this tour and she's back to singing I Told You So solo. She says for the Play On tour they used a cool Opry set up for the song but they don't want to repeat set up stuff like that this time. * Carrie likes to do soundcheck early to make sure her opening act(s) have time to do one too. She says the fact that she often didn't get a soundcheck as an opening act was a pet peeve so she tries to be mindful of that now that she's a headliner. She says if they're running late and Hunter won't get a soundcheck, she won't get a soundcheck either. * She's been organizing logistical things (as far as having necessities like toothpaste, winter sweaters, and stuff like that) for months. * She's excited Mike's signed with the Preds for 3 more years. She said he asked her how she felt about him playing a few more years and she asked him how he felt about playing a few more years because she's in. She's been analyzing her touring schedule against his hockey schedule to see when and where she can fly to go see him on a day off. There's no mention of the possible NHL lockout. * There are lots of great pictures from rehearsals, including some adorable ones of Ace and Penny. Nothing really spoilerrific, though there's a picture of Carrie looking at some of the tour production on the computer and a picture of her with a raglan type shirt that'll be sold at the merch stands. There's also a picture of the whole band at music rehearsals including Jamie Fraley, the lone female member of the band who had actually been expected to leave (she and her husband Brandon have had success writing for a Korean girl pop group). Carrie had said at the VH1 Unplugged taping that this was Jamie's last gig with the band but since then, Jamie's played with Carrie at the Opry and like I said, Jamie was photographed with the band at tour rehearsals. * Carrie also answers Twitter questions from fans. www.mjsbigblog.com/idol-headlines-for-91112.htm#comment-646673864

Carrie also blogged about how excited she is for the tour and that they're still rehearsing so everything is "perfect."
Yup, spoiling the entire show for myself. Don't even care.

How in the world is Before He Cheats still selling 4,000 copies a week?! The longevity of that song amazes me. I'm sure it gets a lot of recurrent play. I am more amazed by "HGTA" selling 2000 a week. It was never a real single, and it doesn't get any current promotion/airplay.

Is double platinum a possibility? The album? Yes. At this point it seems like a stretch, but I think it's very possible. The album was just certified Platinum and has sold 800,000 copies. Around Christmas time she should pass 1,000,000. From there, depending on the singles, tour, promotion, etc... the difference between Platinum and Double Platinum could be made. We have also yet to see "Blown Away" the single's peak... That could tell us a lot more about how the album will sell.

Carrie scores a 7th week at #1 on the Country Albums chart this week, too! Little Big Town will take over next week with Tornado.
Also, BA (song) is the first track on the iTunes special album "CMA Music Fest 2012".

www.unionleader.com/article/20120913/NEWHAMPSHIRE01/120919840/-1/newhampshire01Underwood said she and her band are trying new things this time around and dealing with a lot of advanced technology.
They have been practicing for nearly two weeks to perfect their performance and Friday's show will be the first for this production in front of a live audience.
“I hope everything goes according to schedule. I hope everything goes smoothly,” Underwood said. “If we can get the first one right the rest will be gravy.”
One use of the new technology the country queen is excited about comes near the end of the show. She didn't want to give away the surprise, but said it has to do with the album's underlying them of weather and will make THE BIG TIME: Carrie Underwood has gone from “American Idol” to top of the country music charts, along the way earning a host of accolades, including Grammy, American Country and Country Music Association awards.
Underwood said she took a different approach when recording “Blown Away,” which is said to feature a darker storyline than previous projects. Instead of laboring over details, she went into the studio and let the creative process take hold.
“With this album I wanted to go in and say, 'What would I do if I had no hopes' or expectations, Underwood said. “Let the album make itself.”
Judging from the success of the album in just five months, things went pretty well with the experimental process, one she plans to try again.
“It's something I want to continue,” Underwood said. “It was more fun that way.” www.washingtonpost.com/entertainment/music/country-star-carrie-underwood-hits-the-road-aims-to-leave-fans-blown-away-by-latest-tour/2012/09/13/a0195796-fdb8-11e1-98c6-ec0a0a93f8eb_story.htmlAP: On your last tour you flew over the crowd in a pickup truck. How do you top that?
Underwood: (It will be) definitely spectacular, kind of producing the same results. But I really love to get to the back of arenas. On the stage you can see the first few rows, but then after that it’s just kind of noise. And being able to put faces to an audience has been really cool. So that was important to me to be able to do something like that again.
AP: Were you aiming for a certain feel for this concert tour?
Underwood: Everything is very dramatic. I feel like the album, the “Blown Away” album, was really visual, really dramatic and we definitely carry that into the show. We have obviously our slower moments. It can’t be tense and dramatic all the time. It really is a little spectacle. We have a lot of weather-related things going on in the show. We really start off kind of heavy and a bit tumultuous. We have a lot of beautiful screens behind me and a lot of beautiful environments we can make on the stage that tell a story. It’s kind of like watching a movie and you’re at the concert.

I'd like to keep track of the ticket sales and gross revenue for each show on the Blown Away Tour in comparison to the Play On Tour (for the shows that are being played in the same city/arena). I'll try and post as many as I can remember to in this thread for every show that she's playing this fall that matches up with a show she played back in 2010. :) Verizon Wireless Arena in Manchester, New HampshireNovember 6, 2010 8,487/8,487 - $421,039 DYTAM is not confirmed to be the third single. Plus, Wiki is not trustworthy at all. We won't find out the third single for a while longer since BA is still running its (what looks to be) massive course.

Face it: we're all going to be gawking and replaying every single video put up on the internet from tonight's show. That's for sure! Really interessted in her setlist too, as she has so many songs and singles to choose from now. I've always loved the video's we got of the Play On Tour, but this tour sounds even more incredible. So excited Edit: Random but I'm watching the Voice of Holland right now and after a contestant sung they played Starts with Goodbye by Carrie!! Surprised since she's not really known here.

Pairing "I Know You Won't" w/ "Blown Away" is seriously genius. I know you don't mean to be mean to me. :'(
