Yeah, that "Fix You" performance is damn flawless. Her voice is absolutely angelic, and she controls it so well.

So, what is going on with "BA" outside of country radio?

Ideal time to do it. BA should be #1 and CMA promo week will be rolling around.

The VH1 special is using footage from the opening dates of the tour. Me thinks that's what the cameras were there for...
EDIT: Just when I thought I knew everything there was to know about Carrie, I learn many new things!
I had NO clue about the ear drum injury during the Idol finale. I also didn't know Wynonna's comments were recorded and that Carrie was standing beside her as she said them. It was clear from the video that Wynonna was referencing Carrie to some degree... But I'm glad that throughout the years, Carrie has been able to prove her wrong.
Overall, it was an AMAZING documentary. Rarely do I come across new information regarding Carrie, but I did tonight. This special also makes me appreciate "Mama's Song" a little more - seeing how personal and important it was for their family. It's no wonder why it was a single, regardless of how non-radio friendly it was.
I thought it was interesting that they matched songs from Carrie's catalog to times in her life perfectly. Doing this really showed how personal Carrie's songs are to her. Carrie is so reserved so it's typically hard to make any connections between her songs and her personal life, but this documentary matched some of her songs perfectly with different times in her life. When you actually look back, you see those songs, and their release dates coincide nicely with various points throughout Carrie's life. Nevertheless, they touched on a lot of things that Carrie hasn't really opened up about before, and I was genuinely impressed. Well done VH1!

I didn't watch the show. i missed it. Can someone tell me about the Wynonna story? who is he/she? Can someone tell me about things that Carrie/the show revealed that we didn't know? thank you He is a part of one of the most notable Country music duos of all time, The Judds. Before Brooks and Dunn came around, it was all about the Judds. He then became a solo artist and experienced sizable success as a solo artist too. Well anyway, at the 2006 CMT Awards, where Carrie won her first ever award, a press conference was held afterward. There, her and Wynonna were being interviewed. Carrie was first and was very excited because of her first win, she was thrilled and happy beyond belief. Then Wynonna took the stand, and went on a rant about how "Country music these days is vanilla". At that point, it seemed as if he was referring to Carrie because Carrie had spoken only minutes prior. Wynonna later went on to say that he didn't mean Carrie in what he had to say, but the damage was done. It looked like Carrie was intensely fighting back tears. To Carrie, and everyone else it appeared that Wynonna called Carrie "vanilla" - that's what the context of the entire press conference showed. It's clear Wynonna was referring to Carrie. Whatever the case, Carrie and Wynonna spoke immediately afterwards and agreed to put it all behind them. Carrie said on the VH1 special that she felt Wynonna's words were misconstrued, which I think is bulls**t. But Carrie being the civil peacemaker she is, was able to just move past it. I'm sure by now, Wynonna has changed his mind about Carrie. Oh, btw, Wynonna's a woman

I saw that and they had to bring up the old Faith, "what" moment. Carrie, the press, CMT, and others all agree that Faith was just kidding around. And, they keep saying it. IMO, it wasn't a kidding moment and Faith was pissed. It's only when it looked like a PR nightmare, that the whole fiasco was made to look like a joke. Even in the best of circumstances, the joke took away from the moment it was supposed to be, a first ever CMA Female Vocalist award for Carrie. IT turned out to be a rag mag story. But, it did give Carrie the same boost to her career, ala, Kanye towards Taylor. Think about it, why would a major country star say that in front of cameras at a prestigious event. She must have known it would blow up. Well, unless she really was pissed, then I can understand.

Well, Faith had been around long enough to not show an actual "upset" moment in that moment. I think it was probably a joke, but I am someone who thinks there is at least a little truth in every joke. Would Faith have done that had Reba or someone won? Doubt it. When you lump that in with Wynonna's comments, it shows the resentment people had for Carrie when she first came out.

totally agree. or at least, if she wasnt pissed, she was dead serious about winning. a lot of people just remember the what moment, but i wonder why the scene before that wasnt even being talked about. watch the nominations again, just before the winners were announced and all the five ladies were on screen, faith was mouthing what looked like i better f*cking win. how come no one talks about that??? imo thats worse than the what moment.

Carrie was somewhere within earshot and heard the initial comments. Wynonna was being interviewed by herself when she made the vanilla comment. The part they showed was when she had come back to apologize during Carrie's interview. I know that Carrie has mentioned in the past how supportive Wynonna has been to her.
Also calling a woman a He is not cute or funny.

Also calling a woman a He is not cute or funny. It was all in good fun. bornfearless2000 really has no clue who she is, so I was playing off that. I love Wynonna and her music, the sheer fact that she would be called a man is laughable and I was just playing off of that. That's all... The context of the entire conversation clearly shows the sarcasm. It was not to imply that she is at all manly, if that's what you found offensive? Nevertheless, Wynonna being a man or woman is besides the entire point of the conversation.

I definitely need to find a way to rip the audio from "Do You Think About Me" and "Fix You" so I can put them on my iPod.
I saw myself in the audience! Except you could only see the back of my head for the most part, and a side shot of my face toward the end of the show.

Can I just say, for years I completely took for granted Vinman's technological services here. I never had to worry about missing something because he always capped it!
Wherever he is, whatever he's up to. I wish him the best, and I definitely do miss seeing him around.
Also, Carrie's Unplugged performances were flawless, all of them. "Fix You" and "Do You Think About Me?" were perfect! The others were amazing too!

I see vinman's last post was back in April. I know he made great contributions to Carrie Underwood threads. Hope he comes back!
