I think she would be well past 2 million by now if they had utilized her deal with Sony NY and actively promoted Good Girl and Blown Away to pop radio. I'm pretty sure that there is no such deal anymore, and Carrie cut ties with the NY branch long ago. She has/had a new deal. |

Whether BA album crosses 2 million by the end of 2013 or not, I think BA will outsell PO. Which I think is a very impressive feat. It would be impressive to overcome a pattern of decreased album sales for each album with the downward trend of albums continuing. I think this can be contributed to the overall quality of the album along with all the wonderful discounts the album has had, which many of her other albums have not received. Isn't the 'downward' trend of record sales the case for most if not all the artists in all genres? Especially for established artists in the business for the past 5+ years and well beyond? There may be some exceptions but I have a feeling they are very very few. And even with the downward trend I find that Carrie's album sales perform better than many of her contemporaries. Out of 4 albums 3 are multiplatinum and 'at the moment' the fourth is platinum. I'm pretty confident that future Carrie albums will continue to cross the platinum finish line... at the least. |

Yes it has happened to Carrie's first three albums as well as the majority of others in the business, and that is what makes the sales for "Blown Away" so impressive. |

Don't know, but at least it'll see an upward trend of sales in the next round of data to come around, which'll be great.
However, TBC is jumping around in the mid- to low-80s on the all-genre chart.

"Blown Away" the album is on sale for 8 bucks on iTunes. That's perhaps the reason for the resurgence of "Blown Away" (the song) up the charts. Also, "Two Black Cadillacs" and "Good Girl" have risen nicely as well.

Actually, Blown Away and Good Girl, just like several older songs, have gone up on iTunes due to Year End Countdowns. That's why many new songs on radio slow down and older songs start getting airplay, due to these countdowns. So they always rise around Christmas and take advantage of the iTunes Gift Card thing and usually get a pretty big sales boost. It has nothing to do with the album discount. Just like at iTunes and see how older songs zoomed up the charts. :)

According to roughstock.com, BA sold 58K this week. Its total is 1.166 mil. 3 of Carrie's songs in the T100 on itunes (BA #27, GG #76, and TBC #100). She's also about 100K short of selling 14 mil domestically for her career.

Nice to see Carrie doing so well. Some of these tours are packed with openers and of course some like Chesney provide two country superstars .And then there's Carrie, with just herself and one opener. I think Hunter has been her best and most popular opener to date. Some things I found interesting on this chart:
Lady A. Is at 32 with 80 shows and 35.7 M
Brad et. al is at 28 with 61 shows and 36M
Jason is at 24 with 58 shows and 40 M!!!
Eric is at 43 with 100 shows!!! and 31.2M
Rolling Stones is at 33 with 35.5 M and 3 shows!!!!!

^with 45 more shows in the US and 2 in Ireland I would think the tour would easily pass $50 million Carrie was at an UFC event at MGM Grand Garden Arena in Las Vegas last night with Mike   doesn't seem like Carrie's cup of tea.I wonder if it was a Christmas present to Mike. |
