So let's see... -2007: "San Antonio Rose" & "Desperado"/"Life in the Fast Line" w/ Rascal Flatts -2008: "Before He Cheats" -2009: "Last Name" -2010: "Earth Song" (Michael Jackson tribute) -2012: "It Had to Be You" w/ Tony Bennett
This will have been her sixth time being asked to perform at the Grammys...and she's only been around for 8 years. That's incredible.

Who the heck do the Grammys think they are? I went to youtube to look up her two original performances (BHC and LN) and I can't find them. Did they have them taken down? Now I'm going to need this fantasy to come true... But in my dreams, this song would be around 3 or 4 on the charts at the time of an awards show and she invites Reba to duet with her on this to accent the two woman theme of the song. Radio picks that up and propels the song to number one for weeks. I'm lame, I know.

In June, Underwood came out in favor of gay marriage. “As a married person myself, I don’t know what it’s like to be told I can’t marry somebody I love,” she told a British newspaper. She elaborates: “I’m in favor of acceptance,” she says flatly. “And I am a Christian person, and I do love the Lord, and I feel no matter who you are, what you believe, how you live your life, it’s not my place to judge. I don’t have that power. I don’t want that power. It’s my place to love and to show God’s love to other people, even if they don’t live a life like I live. So that’s where I’m coming from.” -Allure Magazine, February 2013 A couple other quotes from the interview can be found here. I interpret "acceptance" as in the context of Carrie "accepting" people for "who you are, what you believe, how you live your life". This does not necessarily mean that her acceptance equates to agreement. An obvious example is if a person believes in [any religion other than Christianity], Carrie would accept that person and respect their beliefs, but it does not mean that she agrees with that belief. Does it matter? Respect goes a LONG way. If only there are more people who respect and accept others for who they are instead of judging or condemning, there would be much less problems in this world.

I'd prefer her to perform TBC, but BA is understandable considering that's what she's nominated for. I hope though that she changes it up.... Hold a few notes extra longer, add some stage dramatics, etc...

Hold a few notes extra longer, add some stage dramatics, etc... Add some thunder, lighting and rain stage & sound effects... ;) There's a lot they could potentially do with it. If she does sing BA, I hope she does change it up a bit like she did when she performed BHC in '08.

I've been obsessed with Carrie's cover of "Fix You" lately. She sounds absolutely angelic, and her voice is so pure. Her covers are perfection.

I'm so happy that she's performing on the Grammys, and I'm sure she'll perform "Blown Away". But it will be like the 4th TV performance of the song, so a part of me almost wishes she would do something different...I'm not sure what though. She just did TBC on the AMAs, and I don't really want her to do "Good Girl". I almost wish she would do something random like "Wine After Whiskey". Oh and lol @ this article trying to start beef between Carrie and Taylor:

I'm with you, although I'd prefer she do TBC because it is the current single. But it looks like it'll be "Blown Away", in which case I hope she changes it up. It was discussed a little before, but like "Before He Cheats" in 2008, I think she could really change it up to make it different from any performance of BA ever before. We'll see... I hope, if anything, she at least gets to perform her own material. There's even a chance she's there only to perform a tribute/cover - but chances are she's performing "Blown Away".

Oh and lol @ this article trying to start beef between Carrie and Taylor: Is there is a link to the full Allure interview ? I would to read out of what context Carrie mentioned her "three weeks at #1", because that seems quite unlike her to mention her own achievements. Perhaps there was a question directed to her regarding the paucity of successful females in the country genre which generated that response from Carrie... Any links would be very appreciated ! ETA: Oh, and although, chances are slim-to-none of this ever happening: If Carrie does sing her own song at the Grammys, I would love for her first live performance of See You Again ever to be on that stage.

This was the quote:
I don't think she's bragging about her success at all. The point she is making is that unless your name is Carrie, Miranda, or Taylor, solo females don't go nearly as far as males do in country music.

^^ Thank you for that. That is exactly the context from which I imagined Carrie answered a question as I stated in my previous post.

Hey guys, if you post in the Country forum, there is a January Madness tournament there that happens every year that puts the 64 top country songs in a bracket form tournament. "Blown Away" already got eliminated in round 1 of the first bracket (against Lee Brice), and now "Good Girl" is losing in its first round bracket as well (to Keith Urban's "You Gonna Fly"...). So if you post in the country forum, go vote for GG so a Carrie song can get past the first round! Vote for your other favorites too! pulsemusic.proboards.com/index.cgi?board=country&action=display&thread=128747It works like this: Scratch out your least favorite to vote for your favorite 6. Take A Little Ride- Jason Aldean11. Storm Warning- Hunter Hayes 3. Lovin You Is Fun- Easton Corbin 14. Red Solo Cup- Toby Keith7. You Gonna Fly- Keith Urban10. Good Girl- Carrie Underwood The numbers are the seed rankings (how the songs were matched up) determined by Billboard Year End chart! Hopefully we can bring Carrie to victory! Enjoy!

Actually I don't think Carrie is saying that 'unless your name is Carrie , Miranda, Taylor, ...I believe she is intimating that comparatively women in general, on the country charts are less likely to spend time at the top...case in point she was the only female who got to spend 3 weeks at number 1...not so much because of who she is but because of her gender.

I took it as her way of saying it's ridiculous that she's the only female that had three weeks. There should be more women with several weeks.

Strange to not see any stats for the title track this week, and I'm stunned as to how well TH and HGTA has fared. TH will definitely be Platinum and HGTA could easily go Gold.
