Thank GOD this lived up to what was expected of it, unlike the BA video.
Easily her best music video to date. I love it when the "bye, bye" faded out, they killed him off, and then it faded back in repetitively.

WOW. Fantastic video. Creepy, visually stunning, and creative. I love it. I, too, was disappointed with the BA video, but this surpassed my expectations. When Carrie and the mistress locked eyes and she put the key on the coffin, it gave me chills.

I really liked it. I'll watch it again. I like the surprise element but there were a couple of times when the car was moving toward the guy that it looked like a foot was pressing the pedal so that threw me off.

Wow... I felt like I was watching a thriller.
But wait, what's the "twist"?

But wait, what's the "twist"? They're lesbians who happen to own a possessed car.

But Carrie's car is the is "killer car", I got that by the license plate, which they blatantly accentuate throughout the video.

The car fixes itself as a reference to the movie Christine by Stephen King Which I now know, but didn't before watching, hence my confusion. Now I'm going to have to watch that movie!

But why is there a hand on the steering wheel and foot on the pedal just as the car is running into the man? That's the only thing throwing me off if the car is the killer.

There are 2 cars in the alley. The one chasing him and when he runs into the crossroads, there is a car there with no driver.
I picked up a few little clues that go back to the movie. The killing him next to a building is really close to what happens in the movie

The car fixes itself as a reference to the movie Christine by Stephen King Yes...that must be what SK and CU were talking about when they showed clips of them talking as Carrie said she would not do it without his ok. I love SK and CU so would love to see her do a creepy movie of his also. She certainly has grown...loving this era of CU!!

But at 3:55 just as the car is running into him, there's a hand on the wheel. But I noticed just now that he is turning his head back and forth at that point so that's a view from the non-killer car. Whew. Mystery solved. Love it!!!

I have seen Steven King's Christine, but did not feel that this video fulfilled it's potential plot-wise. I felt that the allegedly adultery committed by the male character was not well visually referenced, the sharp changes from the song to the eerie instrumental (which itself was brilliantly creepy, IMO), and the ending feel flat from what could have been an A to A+ video.

Love the video, but not so much the audio editing at the end. Why couldn't they have used the actual outro music from the song rather than the piano music? I also didn't see the point in fading out the song to go to the piano music, then fading back into the song, then back out to the piano. It just felt disjointed and weird. Other than that (and a couple of literal things, like where was Carrie's black veil and crimson smile?), I loved the video.

I didn't like the ending because I had no freakin clue what was going on with that possessed car, but now that I know the reference I understand it better. It's creative, just I didn't expect that at all.

Up 10 spots in the past few hours from #60 to #50, likely as a result of the video !

Reaction on first viewing: WTF??!!
... and then I immediately had to watch it again...
Reaction on second viewing: (w/ huge smile on face) This video might actually be... brilliant. Dark, twisted, trippy, and King-homage-y enough to be effin' brilliant.
I want more of this creative Carrie, where she dictates what she wants based on something that is her (in this case, her love of horror movies) and finds a way to do it and to heck with people who might not get it.
And having King's blessing is pretty cool too.
It took 7 years but my fave Carrie video (BHC) has been dethroned.

The clip is almost 6 minutes and it packed as much as it could in that time range. And really there is no need to flesh out his infidelity, it is enough that it is clearly stated. This guy was 'behind the eight ball' a reference to his impending demise. The video is creative, artistic and indicative of Carrie's development as an artist in every sense of the word.
