It was cool of Eric Church to stand up for Carrie when she won Country Solo.

Loved the performance and the speech!! Didn't really like the whole animated dress thing...it didn't fit with the song at all lol.

She was on the E! After Show and said she doesn't think she'll ever make a pop album.

She was on the E! After Show and said she doesn't think she'll ever make a pop album. And she never should. She kills at what she does. Making country music her own way. A duet on someone else's Pop album? Go for it. She killed it tonight. Part of me wishes she just did "Blown Away" and kept building it (like a storm), but I'm not complaining. Where I've always liked "Two Black Cadillacs", I think next to "Blown Away" it just falls a bit short.

Yeah I would have loved to hear a full version of Blown Away with that arrangement.

Carrie never ceases to amaze me... I thought the win itself was fantastic, but OMG... that version of Blown Away needed to be longer, that's how perfect it was...
Carrie was the vocalist of the night, and although the dress was a bit distracting, people are stupid enough to discard amazing performances because it lacked some kind of gimmick... so between have 30 dancers or water coming down or an amazing differente dress, I pick the latter... they are talking a lot about the dress, but they noticed her vocals as well... won't be easily dismissed as it has been previous years...
my 2 cents...

I was watching the grammys with a friend who isn't a Carrie fan. After watching that first part of Blown Away (a song he doesn't like much) he said "holy crap that was impressive"
That's all that needs to be said. She killed it.

I think next to "Blown Away" it just falls a bit short. I'm glad I'm not the only one who would have preferred she stuck with the acoustic Blown Away for the remainder of the performance. Those nuances she added were just spine-tingling. Her quieter notes are just as beautiful as her higher notes. When the two are combined together, it's just incredible. Combine the stellar singing with the stellar lyrics and melody of Blown Away, it was amazing! Although she did a great job with Two Black Cadillacs, I was actually really disappointed that the song changed. Off-topic, but the country song (Tennessee Waltz) Kelly Clarkson did was absolutely amazing as well. I didn't know Kelly had that in her (I know she has a great voice, but I didn't know she could nail a classic country song like that). I'm now convinced that Carrie and Kelly performing a duet of a similar classic country song like Tennessee Waltz would probably be the best vocal performance in the history of music, and the best there ever will be.

I liked the medley b/c it showcased the natural cry ("Blown Away") & growl ("Two Black Cadillacs") in Carrie's voice. It made for a great contrast, imo. And, this pic is really cute:

stylenews.peoplestylewatch.com/2013/02/11/carrie-underwood-grammy-dress-theia/To perform the song that won her best solo country performance, the superstar donned a custom Theia gown designed specifically for the vivid light show. The line’s creative director Don O’Neill sourced fabric for the 4 feet 5 inches-wide skirt that had to be approved by both Underwood’s stylist, Trish Townsend, as well as the video team creating the special effects.
With only three days to create the gown, O’Neill’s team worked around the clock, stitching together 10 yards of Duchesse satin, 100 yards of tulle and crinoline and thousands of Swarovski crystals onto the bodice. Meanwhile, the production team created the effects that were projected onto her gown, including sparkling stars, rose petals and butterflies.

I'm so glad Carrie won !!! YAY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
She looked so gorgeous, like usual.
I love the performance. The BLOWN AWAY performance was phenomenal, everything was spot on. It was very very beautiful. The TWO BLACK CADILLACS performance was also beautiful, there were a few notes that sounded sharp (at least for me), but it's still beautiful.
It was a very great night for Carrie. <3

She was absolutely phenomenal. She seemed a bit nervous during her speech, but that all went away during her incredible performance. I swear, each time she sings "Blown Away" live, it gets better and better. Easily the best vocal of the night, imo.
I don't mind if she never makes a pop album, but for some reason I want to see her on a duet with Justin Timberlake on his album lol!

Carrie got EW's worst Performance grade (along with LL Cool J) Carrie Underwood, ''Blown Away''/''Two Black Cadillacs''What just happened? Yes, Hunter Hayes played five seconds of ''Wanted'' — but that whole performance was quickly forgotten as soon as Carrie Underwood's dress dropped acid and started losing itself in some kind of LED nightmare. The fabric changed into roses! And then butterflies flew out from underneath it! And then a rabid unicorn galloped out onto the stage and ripped off Underwood's dress with its teeth! Okay, that last part didn't happen. But the whole performance was such a failed experiment, it felt like a very bad trip. Nevermind that Underwood's voice sounded amazing. It was impossible to distract yourself from the dress. Was a very tiny person hiding underneath it, finger-painting with glow-in-the-dark acrylics from the inside? We don't know. But whatever was happening, it was wrong. C+ www.ew.com/ew/gallery/0,,20332882_20672509,00.html#21279239 Funny how Carrie's performance was one of the most talked about and praised by other artists on Twitter... Suck it, EW!

Great response iTunes-wise. 2BC finally enters the top 40 over-all, currently at #39. BA had a bigger impact climbing up to #24, aided of course by the awards it got.
BA album is at #31, even with an $11.99 price tag.

Some loved the dress, some didn't like it. That's alright, considering I didn't like some of the higher-graded performances in this article anyway. The writer and I clearly have different tastes, lol. I particularly LOVED the butterflies projection on the dress, it was gorgeous! But there were some projections I wasn't as fond of too. Definitely prefer this dress over the one in PO Tour.

The EW writer said she sounded "amazing," so it was really more about the distraction of the dress. And I can see his point.
I, too, would have loved if she had built "Blown Away" out of that amazing intro. Had they opened the stage to then go into a dramatic ending for the song? Holy hell. I actually think the dress could have worked for that as they could have had some fire and different things showing, and then the daylight and birds as if it's the end of the video and she's going back outside.
The good thing about BA not being nominated for (and thus not winning) Country Album is all of its material except "BA" and "GG" is eligible next Grammys. So, "TBC" and whatever the next single is could get her in Country Solo and Country Song next year!

Anyone have a better quality video of Carrie's performance last night?
I'd like to rip it for my Ipod, but this one is quite lousy.

Who reached out their hand to Carrie when she won? She grabs someone's hand. At first I was thinking Keith Urban, but he was two rows ahead so that seems difficult. I was then hoping it was Adele, but my guess is she was still backstage doing press for her win.
