Hard to believe that Carrie and Leann are both 30 years old. Leann looks much older than Carrie in that picture.

Hard to believe that Carrie and Leann are both 30 years old. Leann looks much older than Carrie in that picture. That's what years of bad press, media scandals, failed rehab attempts, and getting drunk & singing with a 13 year old on a flop reality television show will do to you.

Damn! Curveball... so glad it's not NETY or TGFH. I thought for sure it would be One Way Ticket.

Good choice! Wine After Whiskey to wrap it all up after this, please.

Well, at least it's not NETY, TGFH or WAY.
I'm honestly a little worried about how this will do on country radio (I think it'll peak inside the top 5 but outside the top 2). I wish they'd gone with something a little more country-sounding, because country listeners probably think this album is completely full of pop songs now. And we're also going to get everyone wanting them to release this to pop radio too. Much as I love SYA, I don't quite understand this choice.

STFU!!!
I know this is overstated, with just about every single release of Carrie's. But if she ever had the opportunity to crossover, at all, this would be it. This song is easily one of the most generally liked songs on the album, and certainly one of the fan/non fan favorites.
So excited for this. I love that FOR ONCE something is going the way the fans want!

It's pretty evident this song meant a lot to her. www.youtube.com/watch?v=DBysz2FIckMI don't know how it will do. I don't think any song they'd release now would be a huge momentum-changer for the album. DYTAM or WAW to end the era please.

But I'm thinking more along the lines of general country listeners who perhaps haven't listened to the Blown Away album yet. Still, I think SYA will do very well digitally, and could smash on AC/HAC.

Her fans can get anything for Carrie. I'm not concerned about the general country listeners at all. If they've latched onto "Blown Away", "Good Girl", and even to a certain extent, "Two Black Cadillacs" so well and tightly, then "See You Again" will not have any issues with achieving equal success, if not greater. I think its large production can also sound well with springtime/summertime. I'm stoked for this release.

She just announced "See You Again" as the fourth single on Twitter. Wow. Wow. It's kind of hard to take her "I love country" thing seriously when she hasn't released even 1 single that's actually country from this project.

With her pushing to become an international artist with this era, it was the right idea to release more pop-friendly singles to attract more audiences.

I don't really thinks she goes into it as pop vs country. I say that because she never releases her pop sounding songs to pop radio. I am surprised she didn't go with OWT because of the reception it gets at concerts and the timing.

I'm SHOCKED by this choice, but incredibly happy. This is one of my favorites from the album, and I love the gospel tinge, production and vocal. Perfect song. I'm not sure if it's the best choice for a country single, but it's evident the label is all about taking risks this era, and I'm all for that.

After thinking it was too adult contemporary, I am finally warming up to the major crossover potential of SYA. Not necessarily as a pop song (is it too late to cut a piano-only version? Pop is all over those lately) but another JTTW that's less obviously country or explicitly Christian, but spiritual enough to appeal to those who are even just kind of religious without being "too much", while also not seeming like a cop-out to anyone who is a little more hardcore in their beliefs. And not to sound morbid, but it's got "funeral song" written all over it. That did sound really morbid, sorry.

All is right with the world again! This was by far the most obvious choice, as it is also the best song on the album! Words can't describe how happy I am about this being the next single! I smell another #1! (but w/ politics, every song by her and a few others all go #1, so this is pretty much a guaranteed smash)

She has never done that before. Two releases out of that one writing session (Narnia soundtrack and now this as single), I wish we could hear the third song that came out from that session as well.

I'm on board for this. This has been a big-sound era, so it would be real nice to see "Do You Think About Me" 5th and close out the album with "Wine After Whiskey". Sorry for already predicting the next single, sort of ridiculous.
But I think this has a good chance of keeping her #2 string of hits alive. I'm sure it will be a nice mix-up for spring/summer radio between all of the summer/party/drinking/truck songs that are sure to infiltrate country radio in the coming months.
