Wow. It's kind of hard to take her "I love country" thing seriously when she hasn't released even 1 single that's actually country from this project. With her pushing to become an international artist with this era, it was the right idea to release more pop-friendly singles to attract more audiences. For one, the same single doesn't have to be released here as overseas. For another, I don't get why people keep talking "crossover" with every friggin' single. None of her singles since "BHC" have crossed over - or even really been pushed to crossover - so why are people talking about this one doing it?

I wonder if this will be a regular part of set list now once she comes back to the US? I'm hoping so.
I almost feel like this needs a "country mix" because there really isn't anything about it that's country...not even the structure of the song. But it's still one of my favorite songs of hers and I am glad it's a single. It really does deserve to crossover, but after they did nothing with "Good Girl" and "Blown Away", I doubt this will be any different unless it manages to pull a "Before He Cheats" and crosses over on its own.

"Blown Away", at the very least, received an AC radio release date. The label just didn't promote it, but now is another chance for them to do the same thing, only actually push the song to the contemporary formats.

Kind of shocked and a bit displeased about this announcement.
Don't get me wrong. I love SYA and it's always been a favorite off the album, but single material it is not. There's nothing country about it, and it's not a good fit for Country radio, IMO.
I was honestly convinced that "One Way Ticket" would be next.

I think "One Way Ticket" is a summer song not winter/spring song.

I think "One Way Ticket" is a summer song not winter/spring song. It will be spring by the time this is released, and probably summer when it peaks. They probably should've done OWT 4th, and then SYA 5th.

OWT won't be a single now. This was the time to release it.

So why do people freak out about "crossover" almost every time a new single is announced?

Thank god Carrie is going for quality singles this era instead of junk. A+ choice. DYTAM should be fifth and then she'll have released the first five tracks off the album.

People freak out because there's always potential, and we've had more breakthroughs this era than we have at all since BHC. It's no big deal for us to express some optimism.

I want an American Idol performance of "See You Again" (after she works out the kinks of where to breathe live). It has strong digital potential. IMO it's her best vocal on the album, and OWT is her worst. Better to showcase her strengths than awkwardly attempt to pander to drunk rednecks. Go get those Grammys, girl.
When I first got the album I listened to the BA-TBC-SYA-DYTAM section of the album over and over again. FC is lovely too but slow and kind of a momentum killer, then there's a decline in quality starting with NETY.

"Good Girl" peaked at #20 on Adult Pop and "Blown Away" at #31. The Play On singles actually did better on average ("Cowboy Casanova" peaked at #21 on Adult Pop and "Undo It" at #25). No singles from either album made the AC chart. In what way have there been more breakthroughs this era?

OMG i'm so happy to hear this.
SYA will slay like BA did (or even bigger than BA). It's a future monster hit.
I can't wait to see the video .

Fourth song on the album track list, 4th single, ok. I love this song. I knew she would release an inspirational song ala JTTW and TH and she did. Is it pop sounding, uh yea, but so was Undo It. Country radio will like the spiritual theme cause their listeners fit that demographic. I see a huge hit here.

Arista's ACM FYC poster for Carrie:

Arista's ACM FYC poster for Carrie: That's kind of a lame FYC ad. Carrie should've gotten a full-page ad that included some statistics, like 3 #1 singles from an album that's sold over 1.3 million copies, tour stats, etc. Clearly they're not pushing too hard for her to win either category, so I'm expecting her to walk away empty-handed yet again.

Agreed. Like, I'm pretty sure the ProBoards signature restriction limits is about the same size as that ad. Oh, well. I'm DVRing the show this year because I really don't feel like watching another "Over You"/Miranda-Blake lovefest. Plus, Reba's not hosting. I'll refresh the Wikipedia page periodically to keep up with the winners.

I don't expect anything either, especially with that piss poor effort by the label. Carrie is clearly the most deserving winner of Female Vocalist, to dispute that is tough. But to overpower the voting block that currently exists would be virtually impossible. Blake and Miranda will once again be Male&Female Vocalist. I'd be pleasantly surprised, and I do have my fingers crossed that I'm wrong, but I'm certainly not holding my breath.

LMAO at the consideration poster.
Well, at least the label try to make it look like they want Carrie to win.
Like i said earlier, i don't expect any win for Carrie at the ACM, but i'm sure she will slay the night and sing her ass off and people will be like ' This is the best performance of the night '.

Add in a drunk Blake and Miranda and a camera refusing to pan on Swift after a joke is made and you have basically every award show.

GREAT review of Carrie at C2C in London! No dancers, no costume changes and absolutely no lip-synching... but Carrie's performance had more in common with slickly produced spectaculars by pop acts like Madonna or Britney Spears than with most people's preconceptions of a country show.
In fact with her dramatic lighting, arty back projections, killer heels and a slinky black outfit showing off her sexy legs, she could be the one to follow in the dainty footsteps of Taylor Swift and score her own country-pop hits on this side of the Atlantic .
It helps that she's already known to many as the winner of American Idol in 2005, where our own Simon Cowell predicted with some accuracy that she would be a megastar. And when you consider that her best songs, such as Some Hearts and Good In Goodbye, are emotion-packed anthems full of killer hooks and giant choruses – just the kind of thing that goes down well on The X Factor in fact – it can only the negative vibe of that word "country" that's holding her back in Britain.
Or maybe it's song titles like Jesus Take The Wheel (which on Sunday morphed into the hymn How Great Thou Art) that don't go down well on these irreligious shores, even though when you sit down and listen it's a brilliant, original and thought-provoking number.
There was more than touch of Shania Twain in her upbeat watch-out-girls number Cowboy Casanova and the cod-reggae of new song One-Way Ticket had the whole stadium united in synchronised arm-waving.
Most of all, this was a SHOW, a big occasion with an energy level that never once faltered and a 30-year-old star with a great voice and commanding presence. It doesn't matter what kind of music you think you like, how could anyone not like this?
