By The Tree holds onto the top spot for a second week. But how long can they fend off Chris Tomlin? Michael W. Smith could hit the top spot too and Casting Crowns is definitely not out of the question as they continue to climb instead of falling back like most songs seem to do the week after they take a monster jump or debut real high.
No really big moves to speak of. All ascending non-debut songs move up one spot. Two songs debut, both former Jon's Future Favorites. Point Of Grace kicked off the countdown with one of them, "I Choose You", a song I really like. The highest debut is "Dancing With The Angels" by Monk & Neagle. How far will these songs go? We'll see in ensuing weeks.
The droppers this week - it just doesn't make sense. Steven Curtis Chapman had debuted at number 20 last week in his first week on (CRW has an extended chart) and this week he's gone. I have a feeling he'll be back, though. And the latest by Shane & Shane - the song had only been on for three weeks. It's too early for it to be over for that song as well. We'll have to wait and see what pans out.
The oldest song in the countdown, "Here With Me" by MercyMe, also takes the biggest drop, falling 4-9. Hmm, maybe it won't break the record for the longest stay ever. Oh well, I didn't really expect it to. Besides, MercyMe already has the record with their monster hit from last year, "Word Of God Speak".
Jon's Future Favorite, "Come Home" by Overflow, is sort of a special pick, for he says he doesn't really expect it to make the chart in the near future. I forget exactly why, since I was busy while I listened to the show. Maybe koalaclement can chime in and elaborate on this.
