The only day of the week where it's crucial for me to fetch the mid-afternoon rolling updates in the 41-50 range for the Alternative and Pop charts before the final Sunday night update and the goddamn website doesn't load all day. Awesome. EDIT: 9:52pm local time, All Access is not only back up, but I got the rolling updates I needed. Lord knows how much time I had left before the upcoming weekly published update knocks out the purged songs in the 41-50 range. :)

I'm surprised this isn't officially being pushed at radio, but I think it's pretty cool. New-ish solo song from Lacey from Flyleaf just in case you guys didn't know about it:

I miss hearing Lacey's voice on my radio.
I also miss having an alternative station.

I wasn't entirely surprised to hear the news about that last night. They hadn't had a hit since 2006 when "Put Your Money Where Your Mouth Is" came out. I guess if you want to count "She's A Genius" in 2009 which peaked at #18. I honestly don't even remember how that goes. Perhaps maybe we'll hear about some side projects from the band members in the future.

Hey everybody. I'm not personally from the UK, but when I was looking up Del Amitri, I stumbled across this site and thought I'd share it. www.chartstats.com/index.php

April 5 is arguably considered a sad date in rock music because two rock music icons died on that date. 18 years ago today, Kurt Cobain of Nirvana passed away. 8 years afterwards, Layne Staley of Alice in Chains passed away. They may be gone, but neither will be forgotten

Any word on Lacuna Coil will get a follow-up single from Dark Adrenaline? It seems like "Trip The Darkness" ultimately hung around long enough to perform at a level where you'd expect a follow-up single. I haven't listened to the rest of the album, so I can't vie for any choices at this point.
Also, any chance we can sticky this like the weekly alt/rock countdown so that it's always near the top of the alt/rock section? I feel like people would be less likely to needlessly revive old threads or create new ones if this were always handy as a place to post miscellaneous thoughts.

Any word on a third Blink 182 single? It's already been a while since "After Midnight" ran its course. Heck, even "Surrender" came and went. I'm really hoping they're not stopping at 2 singles.

I was wondering the same thing yesterday about the blink-182 third single. I don't know what's holding the label up.
Also, anyone know any good alternative and active rock stations? I have an app on my phone I'm going to try and use, but I tried Alt Nation and it didn't work.

Well, I don't really expect a fourth single from them. If the label were to pick one though, I'd say go with "Architects," "Midnight Hands," "This Is Letting Go," or "Endgame."

I don't expect another single either, but surely it would have to be "Wait for Me" if there was. I suspect Alternative wouldn't be too accepting to yet another in your face punk rocker as a fourth single.

Wasn't "Wishing Well" most likely going to be blink-182's new single? I'm really hoping so. It has been quite awhile since "After Midnight" was relevant. I don't expect another single from Rise Against, but as a big fan of their's I'd be more than fine if they decide to release one.

You should try Music Choice Rock and Music Choice Alternative if those are available. Assuming they are not, looking at playlists, my favorite active rock stations are KHTQ - Spokane, WA; WJJO - Madison, WI; KEYJ - Abilene, TX; and WZBH - Salisbury, MD. My favorite active-leaning alternative station is WARQ - Columbia, SC. And by far, the most interesting alternative station on the dial is WEQX - Albany, NY. If your goal is to discover cool new music, KHTQ in the middle of the night for active rock as well as WEQX are your best bets, though from looking at station's adds, KEYJ looks pretty rock solid. AllAccess doesn't let you look at their playlist though, but they add the edgiest active rock of anyone from what I can tell.
