Well, as I predicted last week, "Indescribable" by Chris Tomlin becomes only the second one-week number one song this year as Casting Crowns takes over the top spot. I have a feeling they'll be up there for the rest of the year, unless any of the former #1 songs rebound or "Presence" by the Newsboys is strong enough to take over. But somehow, I don't think so.
The biggest jumper of the week is what could become the first new number one song of 2005. MercyMe, who has an impressive track record on 20: The Countdown Magazine, moves up four spots to number eleven in only their second week on the chart and this song sounds like it could be added to their collection of number one songs.
MercyMe also steps off the chart this week with their old song, "Here With Me", which hadbeen here since March. That is definitely going to be one of the top songs of 2004. I think they'll be counting down the Top 20 of the year in four more weeks, but don't quote me on that. I e-mailed Brad England, asking him when the year-ender would be aired, but he hasn't gotten back to me on it. But I think the logical choice for the year end show would be New Year's weekend.
With MercyMe's last hit gone (though I have this suspicion that the song will be back for an encore next week) that means that we have a new oldest song on the survey. That title goes to "Walk By Faith" by Jeremy Camp. The song has been on for 27 weeks and, like "Here With Me", that song should place on the Top 20 of 2004, probably in the Top Ten.
