This is a supremely catchy track from Canadian artist Eria Fachin. It was a minor hit and peaked at #54 on the Hot 100 in 1988. There are elements of girl group pop, especially the background vox, that make it sound like a bit of a throwback.
Eria had a great voice that reminds me a lot of Laura Branigan (she was a classically trained jazz vocalist). I love it when she starts belting into the fade. She was diagnosed with cancer before she could begin work on her sophomore album, and passed away from the disease in 1996. Almighty remixed the song in 1997 and dedicated it to her memory.
Now did you really believe / I'd never look at another guy? / Come home at night and just sit and cry? / Savin' myself for you?
This is a great song for a drag queen to perform!

I like this, but I have no idea where I first heard this.
