Japan: AKB48 with another million selling singleWith first week sales of 1,287,217 copies, AKB48's newly released "Give Me Five!" has set the fourth result for highest first week sales of a physical single. The record was established back in August last year, when group's single "Flying Get" went on to sell 1,354,492 copies in its first week. This release marks their 12th consecutive #1 single on the Oricon chart. They now have a total of 7 singles selling over a million copies. The top 10 Japanese highest selling first week singles: 1. CD singles in Japan actually equate to around 15-20$$ USD

AKB48 has really crazy fans whom can buy 15,000 singles each and just put them at home physical singles in Japan is so much more profitable compare to the rest of the world ;)

CD singles in Japan actually equate to around 15-20$$ USD Correct. and an album can cost them anywhere between $30 and $60.
