Yes, a feat not seen since July 19, 2009 when Michael Jackson following his death placed six titles in the top 10

Wow at "I Look To You" back in the top 10. I'm most happy about that more than any of the other Whitney placings. Me too! Especially when considering that even after Michael's death, "Invincible" still got no love. The public usually goes towards the "hits" they know, and ILTY (outside of the easy listening R&B crowd) didn't have.

I would prefer "My Love Is Your Love" to have made the top ten, since it stopped at #13 the first time around. Thar would give her a perfect top ten run for all of her studio albums.

If Adele's Live DVD/CD were on the albums chart, she and Whitney would possibly account for 70% of the top 10 this week! As it is, they'll occupy 60% of the top 10. Diva domination!

In two weeks, the top 10 could consist of just Whitney, Adele, The Monkees and the new Springsteen album

Why are people shocked by Nicki Minaj? She has a very loyal fan base. She comes from the Young Money camp...many people didn't even think Drake would go over 500,000 in October and look how he did. Many people believed that Lil' Wayne would come nowhere near 1,000,000 last year either and he almost did AGAIN. Young Money has CRAZY online presence and Nicki has a TON of fans still. 500 MIGHT be a bit high, but she isn;t going to do like 100k-300k or something. 300k+ is a lock. I think 400k is more than likely, and I wouldn't rule out 500k either.

@ Adele still selling 200K plus like it's regular business. If she keeps Madonna from #1 this board will have a conniption.

There will be no new No. 1 albums for the rest of the year, as 21 refuses to relinquish the top spot. The album has a few weeks to calm the sales back to a level that should give MDNA a clear shot at the top (as long as it tops 200K)- but at this point, I wouldn't be surprised at anything Adele-related.

^21 expected to do 215-225K this week. Will it drop below 200K the following week? Bruce's last album opened with 224K.

^When was Jason's last album? 3+ years ago? Train is coming off a successful comeback album. Again, this discussion is over a 3,000 difference, not 30k. But it should be a difference of 30k or more, in the other direction. Train is coming off a successful comeback album that was driving by a smash single whose fans were fans of the song, but, for the most part, couldn't care less about Train. Jason has a stronger following. Exactly. I know Mraz had a steady following even before his last gigantic hit single. and didn't Mraz's new single went pretty high on Itunes even without radio support yet? I figure that's a sign of a pretty big core fanbase which usually buy the album in the first week.

Whitney Houston May Have Four Albums in Top 10 Next Weekby Keith Caulfield, L.A. | March 02, 2012 7:20 EST The late Whitney Houston could have four albums in the top 10 of the Billboard 200 chart next week, so say industry prognosticators. Sources suggest that Houston's "Whitney: The Greatest Hits" could end up at No. 2 for a third straight week, while joined in the top 10 by the Houston-led "The Bodyguard" soundtrack, "Whitney Houston" and "I Look To You." "Greatest Hits" may sell around 100,000 copies by week's end on Sunday, March 4, while "The Bodyguard" will perhaps move around 40,000 to 50,000. "Whitney Houston" and "I Look To You" are eyeing sales around 20,000 to 30,000. The new Billboard 200 chart's top 10 will be revealed on the morning of Wednesday, March 7. Adele's "21" is seemingly a lock for a 23rd week at No. 1, as the singer's second album is on course to sell another 200,000 to 220,000. Her first release, "19," may also be in the top 10, with around 30,000 to 40,000. Just call it the Billboard 200 Top 10: Presented by Adele and Whitney Houston. As for the rest of the top 10, the collaboration album from Kid Cudi and producer Dot da Genius, "WZRD," may debut at No. 3 with around 60,000 to 70,000. Holdovers in the region may include Tyga's "Careless World" (35,000 to 45,000 in its second week), the "Now 41" compilation and Drake's "Take Care." On Nielsen SoundScan's Building chart (below), Adele is No. 1 while the "WZRD" set is at No. 2. The Building tally is a precursor to the final Billboard 200 ranking -- reflecting the first four days (Monday through Thursday) of SoundScan's tracking week (ending Sunday, March 4) as reported by six major merchants. Houston's four albums, along with Adele's "19," are all missing from the Building Chart, as it does not include catalog (older) albums. However, all will be present on the Billboard 200 next week. A curious title is found at No. 9 on the Building Chart -- it's a bundle of three previously-released albums from Houston. Titled "Triple Feature," the set combines 1990's "I'm Your Baby Tonight," 1998's "My Love Is Your Love" and 2002's "Just Whitney." The bundle was released in 2010 and never sold more than a couple hundred copies in any given week until two weeks ago. In the week ending Feb. 19 is moved a little over 1,000 copies, while this past week, it shifted 7,000. That was enough to enable its debut at No. 73 on the Billboard 200. It likely won't "feature" in the top 10 on the Billboard 200 next week, but seems destined for a top 20 placing. Nielsen SoundScan Building Chart Rank LW BB 200 Artist Title 1 1 Adele "21" 2 NEW WZRD "WZRD" 3 4 Tyga "Careless World" 4 5 Various Artists "Now 41" 5 3 fun. "Some Nights" 6 NEW Robert Glasper "Black Radio" 7 13 Drake "Take Care" 8 14 Rihanna "Talk That Talk" 9 73 Whitney Houston "Triple Feature: I'm Your Baby Tonight / My Love Is Your Love / Just Whitney" 10 21 Luke Bryan "Tailgates & Tanlines" The Building Chart reflects the first four days (Monday through Thursday) of SoundScan's tracking week (which ends Sunday) as reported by six major merchants: iTunes, Trans World Entertainment, Best Buy, Starbucks, Target and Anderson Merchandisers. Billboard estimates that they make up about 85% of all U.S. album sales. Link.

Yes, "I Won't Give Up" went to #1 on iTunes and was there for a couple days, if I remember correctly, resulting in a #8 debut on the Hot 100.

MDNA should be able to move at least 300k. That's basically her average opening week. from the last decade.

What's the point of showing building chart when it has basically nothing to do with the final Top Ten (19, Whitney's albums...)

Because it gives an idea on how the charts are trending toward a final chart?
Regarding MDNA, I think it will sell decent, especially with all the different variations available.

Billboard's building chart is pretty much the same idea as the midweek charts in the UK.
Like 95% of the weeks have 0 catalog albums in the Top 10 of the BB200 anyway..

I know that..just questioning of highlighting the top ten it because it gives totally wrong impression of final chart this week. The story above and the top ten below don't go hand in hand.

It was more the journalist in me complaining about this one particular story. Of course Billboard is doing great with publishing the info.

Adele to hit 8m in two or three weeks. Then she will have another 40 weeks before the end of the year to sell 2 mil, which would need a weekly average of 50k. She will probably have hit 10 million shipped by early Summer to be honest. The Olympics (let's be honest, it's hers if she wants it) could even take it to 11 million+ by late Summer. Diamond is absolutely in the bag.
