Worst album title ever. I wonder if the Rihanna feature will be "We Found Love" or something new? I'd be surprised if he has "We Found Love" but not "Call My Name".

^ I still find weird the album title, but I think Calvin Harris wants to share the album process with us, so "18 Months" is the way he's telling us how much time he spent to make his third album.
Also, I'm sure 'We Found Love' will be on this album. This is because he has said that this song would have been the third single of this album (after 'Feel So Close' in Europe/Australia), but he "gave" to Rihanna for "Talk That Talk" and this could be the reason he's featured on the track. However, I don't think 'Call My Name' would be on the album because he produced the track for Cheryl Cole's album and he hasn't any intention to include it on his own album. If he had it, he would have been featured as well.

If he had it, he would have been featured as well. Hmm, I see. What about "Spectrum (Say My Name)", do you think he could include that? He might not want to have two Florence tracks on there, but he was credited on it at least. Like I said in the CHR/Pop thread for "Let's Go", I think he could/should credit "Call My Name" to himself for the U.S. and release it as the next single. That would be much more effective in breaking Cheryl Cole in the U.S. (provided she ditches the mononym), and would easily do better than "We'll Be Coming Back" or "Bounce". I hope his label considers doing that.

It's still a stupid title. Self-titling it would have been much better. You're right. The self-titled album would have been better. However, I'm still undecided with "18 Months". I don't know if it's good or bad. Hmm, I see. What about "Spectrum (Say My Name)", do you think he could include that? He might not want to have two Florence tracks on there, but he was credited on it at least. I don't think 'Spectrum (Say My Name)' would be on the album because both Calvin and Florence said it was a swap. Calvin wanted Florence to be on his album, so she accepted to do the vocals on 'Sweet Nothing' if he did a remix of 'Spectrum'. Also, as I said before, it's a remix and I'm not sure if he's going to include it, despite being a 3-week top charting in the UK. However, it could be a bonus track. First of all, I don't think he would release 'Bounce' as a single in the US because of timing. Also, he has said on Twitter that he doesn't have plans to re-release 'I'm Not Alone' because there are many tracks that has sampled some beats of it. So, if Ultra Records (his US label) is considering (well, it must have ;)) a 'Let's Go' follow-up single, the choices are: 'We'll Be Coming Back (f/ Example)' and 'Sweet Nothing (f/ Florence Welch)'. I really doubt Ultra Records would release 'Call My Name' under its belt, despite being huge and the fastest selling single of this year in the UK and, as a consequence, as an upcoming single. However, I could be wrong. As you said, it could benefit Cheryl Cole to crack the US market, but I think Polydor should have done that.

Calvin Harris And Demi Lovato Announced For MTV VMAs 2012 Pre-Show LaunchThe 'We'll Be Coming Back' star will join the X Factor USA judge next week for the industry event.Calvin Harris has been confirmed for the MTV Video Music Awards 2012 pre-show β providing the soundtrack to the hour long show. The Scottish star will warm-up the crowd before the main event kicks off, with The X Factor USA judge Demi Lovato taking to the stage to perform her song 'Give Your Heart A Break' on the night. The pre-show will take fans backstage at the event and on the red carpet as the biggest names in pop arrive for the show next Thursday (6th August). Performers at the awards themselves include the likes of One Direction, Rihanna and Taylor Swift β who will give a live rendition of her new single 'We Are Never Ever Getting Back Together' for the first time. Calvin is also up for Best Electronic Dance Music Video on a night where Rihanna and Drake are the most nominated stars β scooping five nods each in a variety of categories. Meanwhile, the DJ recently announced details of his upcoming new studio album and unveiled his new collaborative song with Florence Welch 'Sweet Nothing'. His third studio album, '18 Months', will be release on 29th October. Aside the pre-show, Calvin Harris will be joining Rihanna to open the 2012 MTV VMAs with 'We Found Love'. ( Link) Regarding his "18 Months" album, it seems that it would be two editions, a standard version ( Link) and a deluxe version, with a bonus disc ( Link), according to Amazon UK. Will the bonus disc have the productions he made to other artists, like 'Call My Name'. 'Only the Horses', etc. or will it be like David Guetta's "Nothing but the Beat" album, divided in Vocal and Electronic Album?

Rihanna Credited For Catalyzing Calvin Harris' VMA Breakthrough'I got Kelis, Ne-Yo, I got Example. I got Ellie Goulding ...,' Harris says of artists he's worked with following the success of 'We Found Love.'2012 VMA winner for Best EDM Video Calvin Harris took his time crafting his October album, 18 Months, and in that time period, he quickly went from one of dance music's coolest kids to a mainstream superstar. While he wasn't exactly a complete unknown before hooking up with Rihanna for her genre-busting "We Found Love" in 2011, it was the nudge he needed to get other acts to hit the studio with him for his record. "It took me 18 months. ... It was a mixture between 18 months in the studio and gigs," Harris told MTV News about the process of making the record. "And also it was kind of the point when I stopped performing in the same way with a band and singing all the time and all that kind of stuff and focused on DJ and production. And it made sense to draw that line there, and it just happened to be 18 months." Early on in the process, he had been making calls to get a number of A-listers to drop vocals on the album without much success. But they suddenly found the time to meet with him once "We Found Love" became a smash hit. And at the 2012 MTV Video Music Awards, their collaboration was on full display when Rihanna and Harris performed the track together. She later won Video of the Year for the Melina Matsoukas-directed video for "We Found Love." It's clear from these kinds of high-profile gigs, Harris really won't have a hard time getting anyone to return his calls anymore. "Yeah, people at the start of the record, when I was trying to gather some people 18 months ago, said no and then came back after maybe 16 months, maybe after 'We Found Love,' they were interested now," he said. "They obviously freed up some time and could do it then," he added good-naturedly. So, who finally made the time to work with Harris? "Well, I got the Rihanna track, I got Kelis, Ne-Yo, I got Example. I got Ellie Goulding, Tinie Tempah, Dizzee Rascal, Florence Welch, yes, that's the new single ['Sweet Nothing']. That's a lot of people. I'm really relying on them to sell it," he chuckled. "I've never done that before. Although I've done production like the odd track for someone, I've never, for my own albums, I've never really reached out to anyone else," he explained. "So I wanted to go for it and see how many people I could get on one record." Link: www.mtv.com/news/articles/1693471/rihanna-calvin-harris-vmas.jhtmlAlso, he tweeted today this: RT @calvinharris: Finishing up the continuous mix for the deluxe version of my album...good for the gym! Exclusive extended mixes of We Found Love + Let's go Link: So, it's a confirmation that "18 Months" will be available in two editions: Standard and Deluxe. Also, there's going to be another extended version of 'We Found Love', which it seems to be different from the one that was on Rihanna's album, and another version of 'Let's Go'. I hope he does a new one like the "Calvin Harris Remix" (aka. "Instrumental Version") of it.

I don't understand why he wasn't "featured" on the Cheryl Cole track; it's definitely a smash single and hit #1 -- she deserves some exposure over here with it!

Calvin Harris has revealed the tracklist for "18 Months" via its pre-order on iTunes UK. :o
1. Green Valley 2. Bounce (feat. Kelis) [Radio Edit] 3. Feel So Close (Radio Edit) 4. We Found Love (feat. Rihanna) 5. We'll Be Coming Back (feat. Example) 6. Mansion 7. Iron 8. I Need Your Love (feat. Ellie Goulding) 9. Drinking from the Bottle (feat. Tinie Tempah) 10. Sweet Nothing (feat. Florence Welch) 11. School 12. Here 2 China (feat. Dizzee Rascal) 13. Let's Go (feat. Ne-Yo) 14. Awooga 15. Thinking About You (feat. Ayah Marar)
All the songs are credited as Calvin Harris, except 'Here 2 China', which is credited as Calvin Harris & Dillon Francis and 'Iron', which is credited (now) as Calvin Harris & Nicky Romero.

FINALLY. Now all I need is the album cover in HQ. Got it. yass my playlist life is complete :'( Thanks for posting. :) Looks like a promising track listing, though I'm surprised there aren't any big name guests on the remaining new tracks. Still wish he'd included "Call My Name" and "Spectrum (Say My Name)", but oh well. Interesting that they reversed the crediting on "We Found Love".

Consequence of waking up at 6am. and see Calvin Harris's tweet revealing the tracklist: Messing up with this word. FINALLY. Now all I need is the album cover in HQ. Thanks for posting. :) You're welcome, Slizzard. I can't find the album cover in HQ too. :( Looks like a promising track listing, though I'm surprised there aren't any big name guests on the remaining new tracks. Still wish he'd included "Call My Name" and "Spectrum (Say My Name)", but oh well. Regarding 'Call My Name' on the album, I found a report that Capital FM did before the tracklisting was revealed that it would be on there, but I don't know if they made a mistake or, in fact, Calvin Harris could include it as a bonus track in some territories on the standard edition or in the deluxe edition of the album. Only time will tell if it was true or false. Interesting that they reversed the crediting on "We Found Love". I also found it very interesting, but remember that 'We Found Love' was supposed to be the third single of this album, so the inclusion (and reversing the credits) was planned before. However, there are is a two fact s that I find interesting too. 1. I think 'Iron' is a track that Calvin Harris and Nicky Romero did together, so I assumed it would be credited together as he and Dillon Francis are on 'Here 2 China', but Nicky Romero is as a featured. Maybe, he didn't have too much involvement as Dillon Francis had on the other track, I guess.2. The 'Let's Go' version which appears written on the iTunes pre-order album says 'Let's Go (feat. Ne-Yo)' and not 'Let's Go (feat. Ne-Yo) [Radio Edit]' like 'Bounce' and 'Feel So Close'. So, I'm assuming that Calvin Harris will include the alternate version (the same that was released as the track #4 on the UK EP) on the album. I'm guessing again. Already, we know 9 songs (of the 15 that are on the standard version), which are Calvin Harris's five singles to date, the promotional song 'Awooga', 'We Found Love', the Beatport exclusive 'Iron' and a live version of 'Drinking from the Bottle'. Two weeks before the release of the album (even some days before), we're going to know 'I Need Your Love' because it's going to be included in the deluxe version of Ellie Goulding's "Halcyon". So, if there's going to be a sixth single (it depends on how well 'Sweet Nothing' does on the charts), my bet is that 'Here 2 China' is going to be the next one, assuming of course that the 3 other tracks left are instrumental as 'Awooga'.

You're welcome, Slizzard. I can't find the album cover in HQ too. :( 600x600 from iTunes: i.imgur.com/v7qaE.jpgNot that HQ, but good enough for iTunes. Why wouldn't there be a sixth single? Considering he's released five singles before his album while most artists usually just release two, I don't think a few more singles is out of the question at all, especially in the U.S. where he's only released two and a half.

Yes! Thanks a lot. I was looking for it. Is the alternate version an actual remix or just an extended version or something? I hope the radio edit is chosen. It's not an actual remix nor an extended version, so I call it "alternate version". The radio edit has a length of 3:46 whereas the latter has 3:54. Also, it could be the short edit of the extended version. I found on YouTube both versions so you can see the difference: ' Let's Go (feat. Ne-Yo) [Radio Edit]' vs. ' Let's Go (feat. Ne-Yo)' Also, I guess the radio edit was for Pepsi because as you can see the "It's now or never" part is cut on the other version. Finally, I found another video where Calvin Harris is performing the song in front of zombie people and he plays the latter. Why wouldn't there be a sixth single? Considering he's released five singles before his album while most artists usually just release two, I don't think a few more singles is out of the question at all, especially in the U.S. where he's only released two and a half. I know. Maybe he could give a proper release to 'Iron' because he's doing the vocals again and we don't know besides this and 'Feel So Close' that he sings in the other tracks. By the way, LOL at "two and a half". I'm waiting impatiently that 'We'll Be Coming Back' has an adds date!

Well, in the 'Let's Go' case, I prefer the latter, but I have to say the "It's now or never" part gives much more energy to the song, while the other seems a little flat. However, I feel 'Let's Go' is, until now, his weakest single release overall. Hopefully they give something an adds date soon! Yeah. It doesn't matter which Calvin Harris song ('We'll Be Coming Back', 'Sweet Nothing', 'Iron' or, even, 'Call My Name'), but I want an adds date ASAP (well, I prefer the first one!) because 'Let's Go' can't do anymore on the radio and it's falling like a rock.

A quick glance at that (mostly ancient) tracklist already tells me he's out of US hits in the near future. Have we heard the Ellie track yet? That may be his only bet.

Sweet Nothing could do incredibly well I think. I haven't heard most of the other tracks, I want to wait until the full album release, but I doubt he'll be releasing too much anyway. It's a shame that he had to release all the singles before the album even came out... How does he expect on selling it?

If someone is interested, this is Calvin Harris's DJ Set at the 2012 iTunes Festival. Not that HQ, but good enough for iTunes. I found a 1200x1200 :) ( Link)

Not yet, but we will hear before the "18 Months" release because it's included, as well, on Ellie Goulding's deluxe version of "Halcyon".

Calvin Harris' Album, 18 Months, Set For October 30th ReleaseMany things can happen in 18 months. For Scottish-born, international DJ/producer CALVIN HARRIS, he garnered two MTV Video Music Awards, earned a platinum-selling single for "Feel So Close" and performed at many major music festivals including Coachella, Lollapalooza, Ultra Music Festival and iTunes Festival, just to name a few. However, the greatest accomplishment for him during this time period was the completion of his new album 18 MONTHS, out October 30 (on Roc Nation/Ultra Music/Columbia Records.) 18 MONTHS features a star studded line-up, with guest vocals from the likes of Rihanna, Kelis, Ne-Yo, Florence Welch, Dizzee Rascal, Ellie Goulding, Tinie Tempah, Ayah and Example, as well as collaborations with DJ/producers Nicky Romero and Dillon Francis. It is the follow-up to HARRIS' 2009 #1 album Ready For The Weekend. "Sweet Nothing" will be the sixth single from the album so far, following HARRIS' collaborations with Rihanna (the international smash hit "We Found Love" which HARRIS wrote and produced for her 2011 album Talk That Talk) and Kelis ("Bounce"), his smash radio track "Feel So Close" and collaborations with Ne-Yo ("Let's Go") and Example ("We'll Be Coming Back"). Upon its release as a single (date TBA), "Sweet Nothing" will also feature remixes by TiΓ«sto, Burns, Dirtyloud and Qulinez.Fans don't need to wait long to experience the song, though. Once again, HARRIS teams with director Vincent Haycockβwhose credits also include "Feel So Close" and "Bounce"βfor the video which made its broadcast debut on MTV and its online debut on VEVO last week and since posting has garnered over 2,000,000 views.
