This just cycled onto my iTunes, and I was reminded how much I love it.
Graham Parker is the man, and this is one of my favorite tracks from him, despite not being an original. It's also one of his few songs to make the Billboard Hot 100, topping out at #58 in 1977. (The version by The Trammps peaked at #35 the prior year.) This one pretty much illustrates why I consider Mr. Parker to be Elvis Costello (who I also love) with more soul but equal sneer.
(NOTE: Only making the Costello comparison since he is far and away the more well-known of the two. I am in no way trying to imply that one ganked the other's style or anything of that nature.)
