Clear Channel CHR/Pop Sued For Slander
A Bozeman, MT woman recently filed a lawsuit against Clear Channel’s KISN following a Feb. 16 broadcast of the Joe’s Junkyard morning show, during which the woman’s 14-year-old daughter was named on the air and referred to as a “slut,” “hooker” and “whore.” According to the Bozeman Daily Chronicle, that day’s program discussed Valentine’s Day and the heartbreak of ex-girlfriends and ex-boyfriends. A listener called to say her boyfriend was cheating on her with another girl. The girl was named, and, as part of a running bit on the show, a staffer dubbed “Poopid” was dispatched to the girl’s home with a bag of feces. The girl’s mother went home to check on her daughter after hearing the broadcast, and Poopid arrived just moments later and handed the girl the defecation-filled bag. At press time KISN had not returned R&R TODAY’s calls seeking comment.
