Jeremy Camp holds onto the top for another week. However, Chris Tomin is still hanging around at number two and I have a feeling that he's closing in on the top spot, so it could be a battle in the next few weeks. Or maybe Mr. Tomlin will experience the same fate as MercyMe and spend many weeks at number two without hitting number one.
Phillips Craig & Dean have been on the chart since September, yet they are still moving up. Of course, that doesn't mean much, as illustrated by Third Day, who fall off the chart this week from all the way up at number six, the same position as Phillips Craig & Dean. I hope they don't fall out next week, as "You Are God Alone" is one of my favorite songs in the world.
A step below the trio is the biggest mover of the week. SonicFlood move ahead three spots to number seven with "Your Love Goes On Forever". The song is also a possible contender for the number one spot in the next few months, as is "About You" by ZoeGirl, which debuted last week at number eleven and enters the Top Ten this week.
The number nineteen song, as you may have guessed, is a remake of the top song of the 1990s, "Because You Loved Me". This is the second cover version of the song to make the Christian charts. A singer named Jamie Theitten peaked at number 30 on the R&R Christian AC charts last year with her version and now, Ana Laura debuts with her version. I heard it on WFRN the other night and I had never heard the Jamie Theitten version, so I thought it was being played as a recurrent, but the announcer said that it was by Ana Laura. So chalk up two cover versions of the Celine Dion classic!
