"Look Into Your Heart" is a song from the film Sparkle, written and produced by Curtis Mayfield. For the soundtrack, Aretha Franklin replaced the vocalists from the film. "Look Into Your Heart" was originally sung by Irene Cara and Philip Michael Thomas in the film. This was one of 4 singles released from the soundtrack, and it went to #10 on the R&B chart in 1977.
In 1994, Whitney Houston covered this song for a Curtis Mayfield tribute project and her version received enough unsolicited airplay to make the Hot 100 Airplay chart. Jordin Sparks has reportedly covered this for the remake of Sparkle.
This is my favorite from Sparkle and one of my favorites by Aretha. I love Whitney's cover too.
