We Are Young is going to be a challenger for biggest digital seller EVER. Watch out I Gotta Feeling. ;) It's already halfway to Rolling in the Deep's sales (7 million vs. 3.5 million). It really is a contender.

Yay for Rolling in the Deep :)
We Are Young will likely sell 7 million as well over time if it continues to sell well

Rest of Grein's article:
Drake has three bulleted hits on this week's chart. "Take Care" (featuring Rihanna) holds at #11 for the third straight week. It has climbed as high as #7…"The Motto" (featuring Lil Wayne) jumps from #16 to #14 in its 22nd week. This is its highest ranking to date…"HYFR (Hell Yeah F*****g Right)" (featuring Lil Wayne) jumps from #91 to #77 in its sixth week.
Calvin Harris' "Feel So Close" jumps from #13 to #12 in its 10th week…Train's "Drive By" jumps from #14 to #13 in its 14th week. This matches its highest ranking to date. The song tops the 1 million mark in digital sales this week…B.o.B's "So Good" jumps from #19 to #16 in its eighth week. The song has climbed as high as #11.
"Ass Back Home" by Gym Class Heroes featuring Neon Hitch, which peaked at #12 in February, dips from #17 to #18 in its 18th week. It's a far bigger hit than the previous highest-charting song whose title started with that provocative word. Eminem's "Ass Like That" peaked at #60 in 2005…Adele lands her fourth straight top 20 hit as "Rumour Has It" jumps from #23 to #20 in its 18th week.
"Mercy" by Kanye West, Big Sean, Pusha T and 2 Chainz leaps from #38 to #21 in its second week. Digital sales rank: #9 (154K)… Taylor Swift's "Eyes Open" jumps from #29 to #23 in its fourth week. The song has climbed as high as #19…Usher's "Climax" jumps from #30 to #25 (its highest ranking to date) in its eighth week.
Jason Mraz's "I Won't Give Up" jumps from #57 to #49 in its 15th week. The song has climbed as high as #8. Mraz's new album Love Is A Four Letter Word has a good chance of entering The Billboard 200 at #1 next week. You already know that if you read Chart Watch: Albums. If you missed it, here's a link.
"Faded" by Tyga featuring Lil Wayne jumps from #58 to #50 (its highest ranking to date) in its 13th week…Ellie Goulding's "Lights" jumps from #60 to #54 in its 17th week. The song tops the 1 million mark in digital sales this week…"Safe & Sound" by Taylor Swift featuring The Civil Wars drops from #56 to #60 in its 14th week. It has climbed as high as #30. The song tops the 1 million mark in digital sales this week. It's Swift's 15th million-seller, which is more than the next two most prolific country hit-makers combined. Carrie Underwood has had eight million-selling digital hits. The Zac Brown Band has had six.
One Direction's "One Thing" jumps from #75 to #62 in its third week..."Beez In The Trap" by Nicki Minaj featuring 2Chainz jumps from #78 to #63 in its second week…Of Monsters And Men's "Little Talks" jumps from #92 to #80 in its second week…Ca$hOut's "Cashin Out" is the week's second highest new entry at #81. The sing-along hit shot from #25 to #14 on last week's Hot R&B/Hip-Hop Songs chart and is expected to make another nice jump this week.
Pitbull's "Back In Time" re-enters the chart at #83. It has climbed as high as #79. The song effectively samples Mickey & Sylvia's 1957 classic "Love Is Strange," which was memorably featured in the 1987 movie Dirty Dancing and on its best-selling soundtrack. This marks the second time in less than 18 months that a song from that movie has been sampled on a pop hit. The Black Eyed Peas' "The Time (Dirty Bit)" featured a good bit of "(I've Had) The Life Of My Life" by Bill Medley & Jennifer Warnes. The Peas' song hit #4 in December 2010.
"Love Is Strange" was considered exotic and carnal in 1957, when white-bread hits by Pat Boone and Debbie Reynolds dominated the chart. Fifty-five years later, that hook still sounds sexier than anything else on pop radio.
"Love Is Strange" was voted into the Grammy Hall of Fame in 2004. You may be surprised to learn that it didn't quite make the top 10 when it was first released. It peaked at #11 in March 1957. Sadly, Sylvia Robinson (the Sylvia in Mickey & Sylvia) didn't live to see Pitbull's revival of her song. She died on Sept. 29 at age 75.
Juliet Simms' cover of The Police's classic "Roxanne" debuts at #86. Simms is a contestant on The Voice. The Police's original version reached #32 in 1979. "Roxanne '97 (Puff Daddy Remix)" by Sting & The Police featuring Pras hit #59 in 1998…Gloriana's "Kissed You (Good Night)" jumps from #97 to #88 in its second week.
"Think Like A Man" by Jennifer Hudson & Ne-Yo featuring Rick Ross debuts at #90. It's the title song from a movie which is based on a book by Steve Harvey. The soundtrack enters The Billboard 200 at #33 this week. It blends songs by such current stars as John Legend and Kelly Rowland with old-school classics by Earth, Wind & Fire and Luther Vandross.

I know that all the attention is on Gotye, but has there ever been someone from New Zealand in the top 10, much less at #1? I can't think of any other solo artists, but Crowded House member and lead singer Neil Finn was born in New Zealand. They had two top ten hits: "Don't Dream It's Over" (#2/1987) and "Something So Strong" (#7/1987). The only other solo singer from New Zealand to have a Hot 100 hit of whom I can even think right now is John Rowles, whose lone entry was the #64-peaking "Cheryl Moana Marie" from 1971.

I can't believe SAIKI outsold We Found Love, despite being blocked by it for like 10 weeks.

Glee Cast noches a 200th chart entry on the Hot 100 this week.
Far and away exceeding the runner up: Elvis Presley
However, in those 200 chart entries are a total of 251 chart weeks. An average of 1.25 weeks per song for a chart run

So this week marked two milestones.
Adele becomes first solo female artist to surpass 7 million digital copies. Gotye becomes first artist to sell over 500k in a week with no help from first week hype or Christmas.
Wow! Just wow!

Much as Gotye's sales are a massive achievement, they're not really a milestone. Nobody's checking for records that are 'the most ____ not including ____ and ____'. Glee got a much bigger 'milestone' this week.

Much as Gotye's sales are a massive achievement, they're not really a milestone. Nobody's checking for records that are 'the most ____ not including ____ and ____'. Glee got a much bigger 'milestone' this week. Not really a milestone per say, but it is a massive achievement in to the music industry. It shows that 500k+ weeks can be done on just a normal sales week. It's rather exciting! Edit: And I just noticed that last week 7 songs sold over 200k. This week that number was slightly lower at 6, but that's just extremely impressive to me. Besides Christmas weeks, have we ever had a week with that many 200k+ sellers? I'm really loving how digital sales have skyrocketed within the past couple of months.

It's not a record of any sort though.

It's a milestone, which was what the poster initially said.
