This is a really blah, stale, horrible song. Considering that Ryan Tedder is involved, one cannot expect much anymore. Katharine McPhee is a great singer, but much of the material she has been given lately has just been really lackluster. She is capable of so much. "Over It" and "Love Story" in both original and remixed form were really great.

She is capable of so much. Although it bombed on the charts, her Verve album "Unbroken" was a great showcase of where Katharine's strengths are. Kara DioGuardi wrote a number of wonderful songs for her, especially "Terrified." The album was more in the vein of Colbie Callait which I think was a better fit than the JoJo esque sounds they were pushing her towards on her debut. I still think she'd sound best doing a Renee Olstead type of jazzy album with someone like David Foster at the helm. Until then, glad to see her on Smash doing well, and I look forward to these remixes. |

Interesting that this is getting remixes.
As for the original, the production sounds extremely close to Leona Lewis's "Glassheart". Not surprised though because it's Tedder though lol

I like the Jody Den Broeder mix. The other two mixes aren't bad, but they're just not exciting. It's nice to hear some new mixes from JdB after such a long time.

Okay, i've listened to all the remixes a few times now.
Some thoughts on the song. The chorus is pretty unexciting, less vocally challenging ripoff of Ricki-Lee's "Hear No, See No, Speak No." (check it out if you're unfamiliar, great song).
Lyrics are cute and are definitely in the right direction for someone like Katharine.
The Jody mix is definitely very generic from what we've heard from him. Not exactly groundbreaking in any way, although he does service the song and then gets out. Jump smokers gives the track a nice injection of energy, and the Kue mix is just a synthy-noisy kind of thing.
If I play this, I will probaby mix it in and out of the Ricki Lee track.
